Perched on a hilltop with a magnificent 360 degree vista of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina, Santa Barbara Island and the Santa Monica Mountains, spend the evening watching the sunset over Boney Mountain as it fades to black. The stars come out by the millions- and you watch for comets and satellites passing overhead from the comfy Adirondack chairs.
You retire to the comfortable restored interior of 'THE ALUMILODGE'- a 1957 AIRSTREAM 22 ft. FLYING CLOUD, and plug your iPod into the Bose Acoustimas sound system while opening a chilled bottle of local area wine you brought from the refrigerator. The dinette is set for a romantic dinner which you prepare in the onboard galley and gas stove. After another look at the Milky Way, you retire to the Queen size rear bed with quality linens and feather duvet- the fresh Pacific breeze lulling you to sleep in the silence broken only by the occasional owl 'hoot' or coyote howl in the distance. You awake to experience the sunrise with our French coffee press and another day in a paradise you can't imagine is so close, yet so far from Los Angeles.
The area also offers vineyard tours, wine tasting rooms, excellent restaurants, hiking/ biking the Backbone Trail, trail rides and even an 18 hole golf course all within minutes.
Pool (seasonally) and internet hot spot available to guests.
DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THE 'FLYING CLOUD', WE'VE PREPARED ANOTHER VENUE, THIS ONE A 1971 AIRSTREAM 31 FT.' SOVEREIGN WHICH IS LOCATED IN A WOODED MEADOW. View the listing :

My partner and I had a very relaxing time--wish we had had a few more days to enjoy the solitude. Murray was an excellent host--relaxed but attentive and easy to talk to. Even though we arrived pretty late in the evening, he made sure we how to find the hiking trails which we took advantage of early the next morning. We also managed to get in a little surfing at Zuma Beach. Thankfully, as advertised, the airstream has a very comfortable bed! Very clean, very cozy and would recommend this to anyone.
Murray was a great host. Accommodated our request for an early check-in. Immediately responded to texts, emails and calls.
The property is magical. Miles and miles of green, blue sky, ocean and trees. And gotta love the goats and horses.
The airstream trailer is sooooo cute. Perfectly done with an amazing Bose sound system.
I definitely recommend this for all of you free spirits, nature loving and escape seekers.
Thank you Murray for making this available to the public
A magical stay in Murray and Kay's lovely Airstream. We'd been in hotels for a few days and found the camper to have one of the most comfortable beds on our vacation! Such a special, cozy space. There had been heavy rains; so the trail was difficult to travel by car. Murray took us up and back in his "tractor" as our four year old called it. It was our son's favorite part of the trip. In the morning, a hawk circled closely and slowly above us as we enjoyed our coffee. Thank you so much. Can't wait to book again.
We had a fantastic and memorable experience staying in the Airstream. Malibu is beautiful. Being perched adjacent to the Backbone Hiking Trail; 65 miles of trail weaving through the Malibu mountain tops; made our whole vacation. Surely the highlight of our trip. Waking up and walking 8 feet to watch the sunrise over LA on the mountain side was so serendipitous. We were there right on the tail of a heavy rain storm which washed away part of the access road. Murray was very accommodating. He greeted us with the welcoming committee; goats, horses, and the funniest dog that apparently loves side-by-side atvs but hates when the wheels move and he taxied us up to the Airstream. Murray had great recommendations on activities & dinner, provided us with everything we needed, & the Airstream was clean and functional. You have to remember, you are sleeping in a trailer and not a five star hotel. Thank you Murray for this awesome experience! Not a bad start to using Airbnb.

We had a lovely getaway in the beautiful Malibu hilltop thanks to Murray. Despite the rain, we were able to take a mini hike around the area and just enjoy the peace and quiet that we so needed. Murray was a great host--we thank him for sharing this gem with others!
This is the real deal - a true 'off the beaten track', unique airbnb place to stay. We especially enjoyed the sunset views from the mountaintop and stargazing using the suggested app. The airstream itself was clean, comfortable and cosy. Would definitely recommend.
Location, location, location!
We had a lovely stay on Saturday night in beautiful Malibu.
We brought our dog Baxter, a home made lasagne, a lovely
bottle of red and my IPod, so were set for a great night complete
with a full moon.
This is a real fun experience, so put on your happy face, laugh at
the shower and toilet arrangements and kick back for a different kind of evening from a regular hotel stay!
My IPod has never sounded better, (OK Murray, I have to know what system you have and what speakers those were, so let me know under a seperate note) so we had lovely music for sunset viewing and a doubly beautiful sunrise.
This is a fun adventure for those willing to put it into second gear
and who want something a little different and kooky!
Thanks Murray for sharing your lovely property!

Our Valentines stay with Murray snd Kay exceeded our expectations.
We were greeted warmly by Murray and his dogs. I could have camped in the drive way. The ranch is beautiful, and being an animal lover I was in heaven. We were then escorted up to the Airstream on this (email hidden)l to ourselves. Just when i thought it could not get any better....the trailer was beautiful, imaculate and was stocked with anything u might need, we made ribeyes, a seafood boil and garlic bread...just like home. The view was stunning, the bed super comfy and we had the stars to light our sky. We have not stopped talking about it. A must do for an off the grid getaway. We will be back!
Wonderful getaway. We got there just in time for sunset and spent the night dining under the moon and stars. It was a shame we had to cut our trip short, but we will be back for sure! Waking up to a great view of the sunrise and to the sounds of the rooster was an amazing way to start the day. Thank you for sharing this special spot :)
