The West Wing of the Foster Farmhouse (1860) is truly outstanding.

You will find lovely antiques within each room throughout the house. Historic charm meets luxury with a private bathroom for each bedroom. A beautifully renovated historic home, this stunning space is the perfect spot for a visit to Walpole. Stay in and pamper yourself, or if you're feeling adventurous, you'll find a plethora of adventures just a step outside your door.

The space
Our lodge sits across from Alyson’s Orchard, an exceptional 350 acre working farm, perched upon high ground, with panoramic views of the Connecticut River Valley. They have around 13,000 apple trees, as well as numerous other fruits. Through the growing season, there are vegetables grown in the rich agricultural soils that grace our part of the Granite State, left here by the glaciers that once carved out the shape of this land.

Throughout all four seasons, the farm is bustling with activity. In the winter they are pruning, maintaining infrastructure, creating delicious food.

Being so close to the orchard can offer you, PYO apples, plums, peaches, pears, cherries, and blueberries if the right season! Depending on the season, there is outside food, wagon rides, a petting zoo, and more!

Our property has tons of room for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. The orchard is less than an hour’s drive from Okemo, Sunapee, Killington, Stratton, and other ski mountains for downhill skiing and snowboarding.

Golfers will enjoy Hooper Golf Course just around the corner from us. A spectacular place, it’s consistently been rated as one of the top 9 hole courses in the world!

Neighborhood highlights

Walpole is a quintessential and beautiful New Hampshire town. With a lovely downtown offering excellent cuisine and a local gourmet market just a few miles from the orchard, you can enjoy an elegant dinner out or pick up excellent local beer and wine. There is a grocery store on Rt 12 just north of us, and a wide range of amenities within a twenty minute drive. Keene, NH is south of us a short drive, and Bellows Falls, VT is just across the river, where there is an Amtrak station as well. Right across the street from the back entrance to the property is Walpole Valley Farms, which has a great farm store offering their own pasture raised meats and other goods, which is open on weekends.
