The Space

Welcome to the West!!
Just a short train ride from the city is this huge, bright two bedroom townhouse just been renovated and waiting for someone to enjoy!
Behind the red front door is a large living area and full kitchen with small outdoor area. Up the spiral staircase to a very large master bedroom, bathroom with laundry (including washing machine), separate toilet and smaller second bedroom leading to a wonderful north facing terrace. Just imagine a balmy evening, a g & t in your hand, prawns on the barbie provided and listening to your favourite tunes. Plenty of room to while away the hours reading a book or sunbaking on the banana lounge, it doesn't get much better than this. Oh and we've recently installed air conditioning and heating upstairs and there's also a gas heater downstairs so you'll be warm in winter and coooollll in summer!!
When you do decide to venture out there's a fantastic choice of coffee shops right on your doorstep and an array of cuisines including African, Japanese, Vietnamese and Indian thanks to the multi ethnic community in nearby Footscray. Or if you'd rather cook at home and eat your dinner by candlelight on the terrace than you can shop locally at the wonderful gourmet supermarket but you must also visit nearby Footscray Market and Little Saigon for not only fresh fruit and veggies as well as meat and seafood but a wonderful ambience that will transport you straight to Vietnam (with out the jetlag) and there's a bus right out front that will take you straight there.
Everything is right on your doorstep from supermarkets to cafes, to parks and quirky, interesting shops and only 5 mins walk to Seddon station and 10 mins to the city by train.
This townhouse is a great place for families or couples traveling together and we can happily provide fold up beds at an extra $10 a night if necessary.
As keen travelers ourselves and avid users of airbnb we hope we can provide a fantastic alternative to a hotel or hostel, a home away from home and we are only to happy to help in any way to make your stay more enjoyable so feel free to call us at any time, we live in the west only a few minutes away, we love it and we know you will too!!

Guest Access

guests will have full access to the house and all it contains.

Interaction with Guests

i will meet and greet guests on arrival and be contactable during the stay if needs be. i also live close by the property.

The Neighborhood

Seddon is a great place and growing by the minute but is still quiet and retains its village like atmosphere. There's great cafes and fantastic coffee,a gourmet supermarket, wine shop and a variety of restaurants from African (my favourite!) to Malaysian and Italian, and all within walking distance to the property. Just down the road is Footscray,a predominately Vietnamese community with a bit of African too,so wonderful food choices everywhere, including the Footscray Market with its fresh fruit and veg, meat and seafood. Seddon also has an eclectic mix of shops ranging from gifts shops like Sedonia to vintage shops like my very own "Once More With Feeling" at the front of the property on Charles St. So you must drop in and say hi when you stay! Its a great friendly neighbourhood that you will fall in love with.

Getting around

Just a short walk from the property is Seddon train station, and a ten minute journey to the city. Across the road from the property is a bus that will take you down to Footscray, the Footscray market and also Footscray station. And also nearby is Middle Footscray station again a short trip to the city or to nearby suburbs. If you have a car there is free parking outside the front door.

  • We loved this groovy getaway! My 20 something daughter and her friend are totally in love with the gorgeous retro theme and want to return ASAP. The townhouse is very well appointed with many thoughtful touches. The terrace faces east towards the city and catches the morning sun beautifully. The Seddon area is very safe and quiet with many cafes and interesting shops within walking distance. It's great to know that dogs may be allowed!

  • Jo's place was wonderful. Seddon was a pleasant surprise (we'd never stayed in that part of Melbourne) - and was absolutely (website hidden)'s place is wonderfully located, beautifully adorned and had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay there again.

  • My wife and I (plus baby son) were looking for a comfortable apartment in Seddon to stay over Easter whilst visiting family in the (website hidden)'s place turned out to be the perfect fit, and I'd happily stay there again. The apartment has the right mix of comfort and personality.

My wife and I have been to Melbourne countless times but never to that part of the city. Forget the city or Fitzroy, Seddon is where it's at.

  • My parents stayed at Jo's house for 7 nights while they were visiting me and my family last week. They liked it so much that they have already booked it in advance for their next two visits later this (website hidden) is a warm and gracious host. Her house is clean, tidy and comfortable with a kind of eclectic furnishing. It's located on a quiet street just behind the main shopping and dining strip in Seddon. A bus stop is close-by with frequent buses to Footscray Train Station and Footscray Market (approx. 10-minute ride). Or, if you prefer to walk, it's less than 30 minutes away. Very convenient.

  • Joes place is great for visiting Melbourne. Her House is a really nice place. The Best is the huge terrace where you can have wonderful barbecues after a day in melbourne. To go to the city you just need to walk a few meters to the seddon metro station. From there you are only 12 minutes to the city. Around Joe's house is everything you need, including a small supermarked and a bakery. Thank you for the nice stay.

  • My husband and I stayed here for a few days when we first arrived in Melbourne. It's a wonderful house with a great location. It's close to the city, but not too close so it's easy to find parking and not too hectic. The house itself was clean, the washing machine was a life saver and the kitchen was stocked with utensils/played/pans. A big plus for us was that they allowed us to bring our two dogs and had no issues with it. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend to others!

  • We were 4 people staying at Jo's place and we absolutely loved it. The location is great, very quiet and not far from the train station to the city. One big and one smaller bedroom with spacious beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a really nice patio that we had breakfast on every morning. It was also very safe for us to park our rental car outside, which was important for us too.
Although we did not meet Jo in person, she was a great host who was very helpful on the phone and very friendly. A big thank you has to go to her partner Ray though. We arrived from Thailand where my dad had been stung or bitten by some insect and Ray was so helpful and drove us to the hospital and then another doctor. He was extremely nice to us and we are very grateful for his help!
Thank you for having us! We would always come back to this place!
