Tucked beside our small orchard on a 400-acre certified organic farm, The Cabin at Laing Family Farm is a peaceful and cozy retreat where days start with birdsong and end with sunsets over our animals grazing in their pasture across the road. Conveniently located halfway between Canton and Potsdam, The Cabin is close to all four local universities.

The space
This small, cozy cabin is thoughtfully set up for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking to unplug and relax. Inside you’ll find a full kitchen, comfortable living area, loft bedroom, and full bath, along with Wi-Fi and a Roku TV if you choose to stay connected.

Step outside and wander our private hiking trails, enjoy a morning coffee on the porch or in the Adirondack chairs in the front yard, and return here after a day exploring the North Country to a perfect spot to watch the stars.

Guest access
Our guests have access to the area around The Cabin and to our hiking trails. The Cabin has its own driveway with enough parking for two cars. We do ask that you make sure to park in the driveway and not the farm road as the tractors need to get by. If you'd like a tour of the farm and gardens to meet all the animals here, we would be happy to show you around.

Other things to note
Laing Family Farm is a working beef farm, so for safety we ask that
guests stay out of barns and away from equipment unless accompanied by us. Our animals are friendly but large and unpredictable, so meeting them during a tour is the safest and most enjoyable way.

Please stay on marked trails to respect our neighbors’ land and protect the woods and vegetation.

Our farm is between Canton and Potsdam (10 minutes to each) and a little over a mile from Route 11.

There are many hiking trails around to enjoy as well as places to kayak and bike in the summer and cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter.
