Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Our cozy cabin sits in the heart of Cajun country, about 30 minutes outside of Lafayette. It's a great place to spend time relaxing in the quiet serenity of South Louisiana, or enjoy spending a night or more traveling through, it is located just 8 miles north of Interstate 10.

We do not allow pets.

The Cabin is all wood inside and has the great cabin smell the minute you open the door. It was built in 2014 by Amish builders in Pennsylvania and transported down by a truck.

The space
This is a single bedroom log cabin that was built by Amish builders. Materials in the cabin are all wood floors, walls and ceiling. It has that great smell of a cabin in the country. There is internet, an electronic lock on the door, a security system, a table in the den and an iron & ironing board. It has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals. There is a dock over the pond to relax and enjoy the outdoor view.

Guest access
Guests have the entire cabin, except the loft above the bedroom that is used for storage space. It is not accessible for guests. There are breakfast items such as biscuits and sausage in the freezer that guests can use. We also have coffee, cream & sugar.

Other things to note
There is a projector and screen for watching movies or some streaming services. We have Apple TV which includes YouTube TV and a few other services, we do not have Cable TV.
The Security System has motion detectors inside the cabin. There are no cameras on the premises.
Although we live in Lafayette, my brother in law and his wife live next door. They give guests privacy but are nearby if assistance is needed.

Neighborhood highlights

The cabin sits next to a pond on 5 acres of property. There are trees along the property lines and a dock over the pond to sit and relax. The pond is stocked with Bream, generally about hand sized. There is a porch on both sides of the cabin.

I made frequent trips to Haiti to assist Respire Haiti with construction projects, but have postponed any travel due to conditions there. I like to travel, cook and enjoy outdoor activities.
