This home is near the national park.
The cabin, which has no electricity, is located in an apple orchard on the grounds of the Morgan Bay Zendo. It has a wood stove for heat if needed. A full kitchen, showers, and compost toilets are located in the Meeting Hall a few steps away where there is electricity. We ask guests not to use alcohol or recreational drugs on the premises and that cooking be vegetarian.

The space
The cabin is on the grounds of the Morgan Bay Zendo, an ecumenical meditation center located in Downeast Maine that offers an opportunity for people to practice meditation whatever their background or faith may be. All are welcome. Ideal setting for rest, reflection, & renewal.

Guest access
You may drive to the site from the Morgan Bay Road via Osprey Lane to unload when you arrive and reload when you leave. In between, please plan to park you car in the parking lot on the Morgan Bay Road and walk down the wooded path to your accommodations. Please bring a flashlight to light your way after dark.

Guests may walk the grounds and enjoy the surrounding area which includes conservation land and a saltwater bay a short walk away. There are places to kayak, swim, and bike nearby. Acadia National Park is about 45 minutes away.

Acadia National Park is across two bays and about 45 minutes away by car. Walking trails and good places to swim in the ocean are nearby. It is also a good place to bicycle. The charming village of East Blue Hill is two miles away and the shopping and cultural centers of Blue Hill and Ellsworth are a 15 minute drive away. Surry village has a general store (Surry Market), ice cream shop (Pugnuts), hardware store (Surry General Store) and one of the best plant nurseries in Maine (Surry Gardens).

The suite with twin beds has a separate entrance and is located in the Meeting Hall on the grounds of the Morgan Bay Zendo, an ecumenical meditation center in Downeast Maine a short walk from the ocean with Acadia National Park visible across the bay. The space includes a bathroom with shower and sink. Kitchen facilities and toilets are a few steps away in the Meeting Hall. Hiking trails and places to swim & bike are in walking distance.
