A Yurt on a small scale homestead dedicated to building resilience for you and your family. It is a lakeside adventure with hints of romance, play, and education. The Seneca Treehouse Project is a permaculture learning center and homestead on Lake Hartwell just outside of Clemson and Seneca South Carolina. If you're interested in learning about homesteading or just want a unique place to relax on the lake, this is perfect for you!

The space
This cozy 16' diameter yurt is a bedroom in the midst of a small scale homestead. It has access to a community outdoor kitchen and bathroom with a propane stove, refrigerator, hot shower, and toilet. We usually have eggs fruits and vegetables from our garden. If you would like a guided tour, we can schedule that for an additional fee and you're welcome to help yourself to walk around the site.

The yurt is close to the chicken coop so you may hear the sounds of the birds during your stay. We do NOT keep roosters. You can access the lake through our adjacent property in which you can enjoy the canoes kayaks paddle boards and a nice beach for swimming.

On Lake Hartwell, close to Clemson SC, and the southern Appalachian mountains.

Enjoy the lake, Gardens, and Animals.

There's an outdoor kitchen and bathroom, a fire pit, fresh eggs, vegetables, fruit, and nuts as in-season available to graze for free, or purchase already picked for your enjoyment.

Please feel free to explore the outside, but do not enter other structures, as there may be other guests inside.

Guests at the Seneca Treehouse Project share the boats and the beach. You can use kayaks, a canoe, and a stand-up paddle-board. Currently, there's no rental fee so please help us to take care of them, and let us know if something is broken.

* Please turn the boats upside down and pull them back on the shore when finished.

* Please also pack out everything you brought, especially trash.

Other things to note
A yurt (from the Turkic languages) or ger (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered and insulated with skins or felt and traditionally used as a dwelling by several distinct nomadic groups in the steppes and mountains of Inner Asia. The Seneca Treehouse Project has multiple different types of alternative housing options to experience.

There will be coffee and some tea available. Eggs and produce are available for purchase in the outdoor kitchen refrigerator through a self-serve system. You are welcome to harvest herbs for fresh tea if you would like.

Currently, Our Wi-Fi works for browsing the internet and streaming, but live videos tend to hang.

We welcome well-behaved and friendly dogs. We ask that they stay leashed around the farm. They are welcome to run free in the woods and down at the beach.
