Appartment in Ørestaden by the famous architectural office B.I.G. - 20m2 private room
Here is your unique chance to stay in an architectural icon in Copenhagen, designed by the world famous BIG studio.
I’m a frequent traveller, and when not away from home I offer up a spacey room at my contemporary apartment on the 6th floor (The apartment is in three levels) close to Ørestad/Bella Center Metro station. Sharing with other travellers, gives me a chance to expand my view of people and the world, and I love to host.
The apartment is ”open plan” or New York loft style, with windows from floor to ceiling. Light is pouring in from sunset to sundown. The room accomodates 3 people, but an (air)mattress can be arranged, if you need room for more: I will be staying at the top level while your room is on the lower level. The middle level (entry level) consists of a living room and kitchen in open plan.
LOWER LEVEL: Brand new DUX 414 continental king size bed 180 x 200 with duvets and bedding of Oeko-Tex standard. You won’t get a better nights sleep anywhere! You have a choice of a double duvet or two separate duvets. The room is seperated from the rest of the apartment by a closed staircase and the bathroom is right next door. The room has an extra bed with bedding of the same quality.
My guests has free access to the bath room at the lower level, a large and spacy kitchen, with an eating place for 4-6 persons directly in front of the balcony. I offer facilities such as wireless Internet and I have a large collection of music (CD’s on the upper level), and DVDs (middle level). Plenty to keep you entertained on a rainy day in Copenhagen ;-). For those with a graphic interest I have a big collection of graphic novels downstairs, where you will be staying. Naturally I will be providing towels as well, and you have full access to washing machine and dryer.
THE AREA : The apartment is only a few minutes walk from the metro, which is operating 24 hours every day of the week. Ørestaden is a newly developed area with a huge shopping centre (Field’s) and the protected natural area Amager Common is right at my doorstep making the area ideal for jogging/blading. The area consists of some of the most interesting contemporary architecture in Copenhagen. Also the metro connects you with central Copenhagen in 10 minutes 24-7.
HOW TO GET THERE:
From the airport:
Take the train to ØRESTAD station (2 zones – 2 stops) and walk 5-10 minutes to my doorstep
From the Central Station:
Take the train to ØRESTAD station (2 zones – 1 stop) and walk 5-10 minutes to my doorstep
How to get around: You have the option to use the Metro station BELLA CENTER or the Train station ØRESTED to get easily to any place in Copenhagen or Sweden. Both stations are within a short walking distance. Also you can rent bikes cheaply, and Copenhagen is great for biking with bike lanes eveywhere. I yself bike to and from work every day.
I look forward to be your host throughout your visit to Copenhagen. I appreciate people of all colours and sizes and will be happy to help you make your stay in Copenhagen memorable. Don’t hesitate to email me your questions or special requests.
Regards from Søren
What can I say about Søren and his designer apartment that hasn't been said already? I was fortunate to have an extended stay in this bright, spacious accommodation. I found it to be modern and spotlessly clean - two things I look for as a top priority. Then comes the convenient location, close to a large shopping centre and 5 minutes walk from the Metro station. You can be in the city centre in another 10 minutes. Add Søren himself to the mix and you have a recipe for a delicious stay in Copenhagen!
Soren is a remarkable host. He is communicative, quickly responsive and friendly. He provided useful information -- directions, info about his apartment's surroundings, things to see in Copenhagen, etc. His apartment is clean, located right next to the Bella Center (where I went for a conference) and is very near a metro station with easy access to downtown Copenhagen and the airport. I would stay in the area and with Soren as a host again!
The appartement is indeed amazing. The architecture is magnificent and has everything you need for a good and cosy stay in Copenhagen.
Soren is also a great host who made us feel at home from the first minute. We liked very much, and hopefully we can stay there once again in the future.
Søren's apartment is one of the best stays you can get during your time in Copenhagen. It is located only some minutes from the city centre by metro which is both convienient and frequent. Søren's apartment has three floors and we stayed in the bottom floor which is like the rest of the apartment -very nicely and modernly furnished. It is also worth to mention Søren's impressive collections of music, dvd's and books for all kind of tastes. This was perfect me and my children as the city closes early and you can spend the short time before bed browsing through his library or watch a movie. As for my children who like Modern Architecture very much, Orestad is the best place to see top modern Scandinavian Architecture with many well-recognized buildings by eminent architects like Bjarke Ingels and Henning Larsen etc. We would like to thank Søren for his helpful advices during our stay and for being an excellent host.
My visiting family stayed in the downstairs bedroom at Søren's and it worked out really great for them! The apartment is well-designed and modern, and the room was perfect for three people. It was really nice to have the bathroom on that level too. The whole apartment is really clean and tidy. He has wi-fi, an amazing book collection, and the views on either side of the apartment are fantastic. The kitchen has really nice appliances and dishes to enjoy your meals.
The apartment is in a convenient location, with metro stops and the Øresund train lines about 350 meters away. (10-15 minutes walk) When my family wanted to get groceries, they had three grocery store options to walk to, plus Fields Shopping Center is also nearby. (there is also a fantastic ice cream place called Ismageriet a short walk away with homemade ice cream and sorbet galore ;)
Søren is so friendly and has a great sense of humor. He had fun stories about his travels, and also useful tips about museums and information around Copenhagen. He was available when needed, but considerate and never intrusive, a great host!
My family is already talking about booking the same room next summer ;) Thanks again Søren for a great visit!
We stayed with Soren for two nights during our first visit to Copenhagen. The apartment is great and within a few minutes walk from the station and metro. We ended up using the train all the time, as it was only one stop from the Central Station and two stops from the Airport. Unfortunately we were out most of the time and did not get much time to talk. On Soren's recommendation we ordered take aways (and a bottle of wine) from the Indian Restaurant across the street, which was superb. It is a proper restaurant and not only take aways, but we felt like enjoying dinner in the apartment. The wifi connection in the apartment allowed us to catch up on our emails to ensure that we stayed connected. Dawie and Linky
I stayed with Søren on two occasions using both rooms. The downstairs room is a little bit more expensive, though in my opinion worth it as this room is more spacious and you get proper bed. If you are a couple choose this room. If you are single and want a cheap room that is really centrally located then go for the loft.
About the host, Søren is a considerate and experienced host. I appreciated his balance of easy conversation and discreetly allowing personal space. Søren is very well travelled and is a wealth of information for sight seing in Copenhagen.
Thank you for a good stay
