This walkabout starts from the Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary and loops through the lush green and very dense forest into a catchment area. This gradual walk is reminiscent of the very unspoilt environs of the British ‘Raj’ and culminates at a Dak Bungalow, which has even housed some Indian Prime Ministers. There is a beautiful artificial lake near the Dak Bungalow. The area is a reserved and protected forest and houses some of the most abundant, endangered and well-preserved flora and fauna of the region. This walkabout is particularly suited to the children and the elderly on account of its gentle gradient. The area is also home to some of the rare birds and animals.

The entire walkabout winds through thick pine and deodar forests and apple orchards dotted with colonial cottages and traditional homes.
Walkabout IV: The Shali Temple Hike
