Francesco´s flat is breathtaking in the middle of the old town of Perugia. Such a nice flat with wonderful decor and endowments. The view from the terrace is terrific. The flat is 100% like it is on the pictures showed in airbnb. Good local public transport from the main station of Perugia to the flat and to parking slots outside the old town of Perugia. Because it is a bit difficult to enter the old town by car. But Francesco was very kind and picked me up from where I have parked my car. I hope the flat is free for booking when I come back to Perugia and hope to have an aperitivo with Francesco again.
Frencesco is a warm and soulful person.......He is a gracious host who attends to your cojmforts.......the views from the condo left me and my wife breathless and appreciative of Perugia...we hope to see Francesco again, perhaps in San Francisco.................otto and Joan
The apartment was spacious, clean and the location perfect. The pictures reflect the actual situation. It can hold six people easily and it has everything that you might need during your stay. If you like beautiful views, sunbathing and don't mind uphill walking, this is the perfect apartment! If you have a car, it can be parked for free a 10 minute walk downstairs. And what about Francesco? Francesco does not only know Perugia and its restaurants, but also in other cities in Umbria and he enjoys sharing them with you. He is a generous host that treats his guests well and he's fun to be with. Me and my girlfriend were in the apartment for two weeks and used it as a base camp to discover Perugia and surrounding Umbria (Assisi, Spoleto, Spello, etc). Even Florence and the Tuscany coast aren't that far away. Some days we went to a town in the morning and went sunbathing in the afternoon. The upper terrace (there are two) has sunshine until 1900 hrs in august and it is located at the very top of the city, so it is quite private as well! We had a very nice time in the apartment and with Francesco and will recommend the apartment to all our friends.
Francesco was a great host and was a proud guide to his city! He gave us some great restaurant tips and even gave us a lift to one restaurant out of town. The apartment is fantastic, the views are amazing, the roof terraces are large and private (including privacy screens for the top one). We had one small problem with the power in the living room but it didn't cause us any issues and Francesco had it fixed before we got home that day. The apartment was clean when we arrived and everything was made up properly.
We were just two people but the apartment could easily host six comfortably. I would highly recommend Francesco and this apartment.
We enjoyed our stay in Francesco apartment more than we even expected. Francesco was VERY helpful and available for everything we needed. He even drove us back to our car the last day with our luggage (Parking is a little far but it is not a problem as Francesco helped us upon arrival and departure) . The views from the terraces are the BEST you can get in Perugia. The apartment is HUGE and very comfortable. The location is as central as it gets, in the historic part of town where you can visit everything and enjoy good restaurants and cafés at night. Perugia is a great location to visit surrounding places as well. We are already planning to go back next year!!! Francesco is an exceptional host.
The apartment is fabulous. It is beautiful and very comfortable. It has all the modern conveniences you could want in a charming old world setting. It is clean, neat and very well maintained. The location is perfect and the view spectacular! Every bedroom and the main room has a breathtaking view. The views are the best we saw in the entire area. Then there are two great patio decks. It is worth it to wake up early to see the Sunrise.......it is magnificent!!!! Perugia is a magical town!
Francesco is a most gracious host and assisted with any questions we had. He provided detailed directions on where to go and what to do to enjoy his beautiful part of the world. I can't say enough! This was our first rental with Airbnb and thanks to Francesco, now we are spoiled from the best experience ever. I hope to go back!!
Francesco is an excellent and charming host. He picked us up, showed us the apartment, and hauled our luggage in his car from the parking structure right to the front of the house. In addition, he provided advice about places to go as well as about restaurants (he seems to be very knowledgable when it comes to Perugian restaurants!!). He sent text messages on a regular basis enquiring about whether or not we had questions or needed help. He is to be recommend without reservation.
The apartment itself is spacy, on two floors and with two extremely large terraces that provide an impressive view. Unfortunately, we only had 1 1/2 breakfasts on the main terrace due to rather poor weather conditions. The bedrooms and the bathrooms were cleaned up and tidy when we arrived.
All in all, we had a great vacation in Umbria in general and Perugia in particular -- it is a great city!!
Francesco's apartment is surely the best place to stay in Perugia and from which to explore the city and its surroundings. The apartment consists of the top floors of a medieval building, with stunning views from its terraces over the Tiber Valley and towards Assisi. You won't forget the experience of seeing the morning mists suddenly rise as the sun comes up, revealing the beautiful Umbrian countryside unfolding below you.
The apartment itself is large, well-appointed and everything just works; it's an easy place to live (provided you can walk up the flight of stairs). Many pieces of furniture, paintings and other details remind you that this was a family home; it's a privilege to be welcomed into such an environment.
Francesco is the most welcoming of hosts and knows everything about and, it would seem, almost everyone in Perugia. We stayed at the apartment as a group of three friends, with Francesco making excellent suggestions about the kinds of things that we might like to do and the places that he would recommend we visit. His kindness marked our visit profoundly. Despite very much being tourists - we'd never been to Perugia before and our Italian is atrocious - we felt like locals.
Overall, the perfect combination of somewhere special and unique and somewhere you can just relax.
Francesco's house sits on the highest point of Perugia in the heart of the historic central city. You could not ask for a better location, view, or venue. The house is clean, lovely, comfortable, and well appointed. While the building itself is hundreds of years old (and beautiful) the flat is kept in great shape: the electrical wiring has been updated, the water pressure is strong, and the kitchen is modern. So it's the best of both worlds.
I fell in love with Perugia while I was there. It's a good town to stay a few days and use as a base of exploration for the rest of Umbria. The train is easily accessible via Mini Metro.
Francesco is a native and happy to show off his city. He has great taste and you will learn things about Perugia that a normal tourist might miss. He made everything easy -- from picking me up to the train station, to telling me where I could shop for groceries, even taking me on quick run to a household store to help me pick out a Bialetti.
I was surprised by how big and well appointed the house is for the asking price, and to be honest I think he could charge more!
I went to Perugia for the International Journalism Festival 2013. I'll certainly go again in 2014 and when I do, I'll book Francesco's. Highly recommended.
What I would say about Marc? I think I was just lucky again with my guests .. Personable, enthusiastic and smiling ... left my house in perfect order ... As I have already written about previous guests, I must reiterate about Marc ... a passion for people who characterizes me is absolutely satisfied by encounters with people like Marc ... I think this is the "philosophy", the concept itself at the base of hospitality and guests through circuits to be like this ..
This is a beautiful and comfortable apartment in probably the best location in Perugia, subject only to the caveat that one has to be willing to climb to gain the fabulous views across the Umbrian hills to Perugia which are seen not only from the terrace but also from every window in the apartment. It is also very close indeed to the historic centre of the city, and Francesco could not have been a more welcoming, charming and helpful host. Highly recommended!
Thank you very much Vicky! The pleasure to have met you, Bob and Ken is mutual ... People like you are rare today .. And thank you also for having "climbed" my city with so much courage .. As I often tell my future guests, the reward to those who have the courage to reach the highest and the oldest point in town center of Perugia, will be the one glimpse of the world that inspired even Dante Alighieri ...
