We just got back from a wonderful vacation that included 4 nights in Paris. I can't say enough positive things about Partrick, our stay and his apartment. This was our first experience with AirBnB and although we heard from others that had positive experiences; we weren't sure what to expect. But Patrick made the entire process easy and walked us through all the details. During the booking process and prior the trip, he responded to all my emails in a very timely manner.
The apartment is great and looks exactly like the pictures. Very comfortable, nice big bed, great bathroom and having a washer/dryer is plus. And yes, there is 100 stairs to the fifth floor apartment, but the location and accomodations are worth it. Centrally located to all you need to see. Patrick even left a bottle of wine for us. And although we don't drink wine, the gesture was greatly appreciated.
We were met at check in by Patrick's friend Julien who was very helpful in explaining all we needed to know about the apartment. Julien spoke great English which helped tremendously as my wife and I spoke very little French. The TV wasn't working and although we didn't care, they bought and installed a new TV the next morning.
I would hightly recommend this place to anyone; and would come back in a second.
I've read the reviews and I've seen that everything I want to say is already written. I'll emphasize the top 3:
1. Patrick - he is a great host! Polite, caring and eager to help at all time.
2. Location - the apartment is the the double dd inside the word "middle". It's inside a beautiful and quite Parisian neighborhood. Close to any site worth being.
3. The apartment - very comfortable, designed beautifully and with great taste. Awesome shower!
I absolutely recommend Patricks apartment.
We spent a few wonderful days at Patrick's apartment in Paris at the end of March.
The flat is in a very quiet street just a 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame and all the nice restaurants of Saint Germain De Pres
The flat is very well furnished and decorated with good taste with a very 'Parisienne' feel.
The flat has all the amenities you may ask for, fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, fresh towels, washing machine, dishwasher and super fast Wi-Fi. Nothing short of a five star hotel!
Patrick was very kind with us and made us feel welcomed. Everything went smoothly and we'll keep very fond memories of our holiday. We feel we can strongly recommend our host to all the Air BnB users.
The only small drawback is that it is at the fifth floor with no elevator, but if you are not in a hurry, do not carry heavy luggages and do not mind a 'little exercise' it poses no problem.
This was my second airbnb experience and I could not be happier. Patrick was very communicative throughout the process. When my teenage niece and I arrived at the apartment, someone was right there to greet us. The building and apartment are exactly as described - a historic building in an amazing central location, but on a quiet street, with double glazed windows and wonderful plumbing. Talk about the best of all worlds! I have stayed in this area many times and this is an incredible value for the price. My only caveats would be that the bed (like many European beds) would be too small for my very-tall husband, and of course one must be prepared to enjoy the exactly one hundred stairs up to the apartment (so pack light)! We loved it - our three day visit in Paris involved lots of walking and stairs, leaving us free to indulge in wonderful French food :) It was my niece's first time in Paris so the personal touch of having our host in the same building and allowing us to practice our French conversation was a real treat.
My husband and I spent just under a week at Patrick's amazing Paris apartment. The apartment is centrally located on a quiet street (and we mean quiet - it was more peaceful than our home in Vermont!), in a charming old Parisian building. It features modern amenities such as an amazing rain shower and super fast wi-fi and provided us with a great night's sleep. Check in and out went smoothly and we had the delight of meeting Patrick during our stay. As other reviewers mentioned, there are a lot of stairs to the top, but the view and accommodations are worth the hike! We'd definitely stay here again!
We stayed for 9 days at Patrick's charming property. The location & conditions represent a fantastic value. We are on an extremely quiet street very close to the open market of Rue de Buci, and a few minutes' walk from the metro station of St Michel. It is an excellent neighborhood/base to enjoy and explore Paris. The architectural elements of this 17th century building is beautifully incorporated into the place without any sacrifice of modern amenities. Patrick is an incredibly detailed and gracious host. As everyone stated, there are many flights of one-of-a-kind ancient steps to reach the place, so it is not for anyone physically challenged. We are very happy we found Patrick's property, and hope to return again soon.
This is a beautiful little apartment and Patrick a delightful host who gave us goodies, including a delicious home made apple tart. The apartment is as per the photos and comfortable and clean. The position in St Germaine is just perfect to see all Paris has to offer, either on foot or catching the Metro at St Michel nearby. Supermarkets close by allow shopping for fresh food to cook 'at home'. Do take note of being on the 5th floor......100 steps......if you leave something behind you may be reluctant to race back to retrieve. I would definitely stay here again and most definitely recommend.
Thank you Patrick for everything!! He was there for our arrival and departure. He was quick to respond to all request pre-trip and during our stay in Paris. Very clean and modern flat. Great location to many popular sites. The flat is just like the pictures.
We had an absolutely fantastic time here! The apartment was clean, uncluttered, and stocked with all the necessities (shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, kitchenware, cookware, a French Press for coffee, tea, sugar...). It was warm (we came in winter), cozy, and quiet. The only noise we heard were church bells, which we enjoyed! We appreciated having the washing machine and dish washer, too. The apartment also has great, speedy wifi!
The area of town is fantastic. It's close to lots of great restaurants, crêperies, museums, and must-see landmarks. We recommend the Paul bakery for fresh goodies and Chez Fernard for lunch or dinner.
We felt very safe in the apartment. There are two doors with separate key codes to go through before you get to the apartment door (which is locked, too). It's not a un-safe area, but added security is always a plus.
Be warned, there are 101 steep stairs to get to the apartment... But, they add to the charm & are worth the climb!
We stayed in Patricks apartment for a long weekend and we enjoyed every minute. Beautifully designed, clean and quiet flat just footsteps away from St. Germain center, Notre Dame, etc.
Patrick had everything perfectly arranged. 100% Recommendation.
Merci beaucoup Patrick.
