très bon accueil de Vicki et sa famille. Très belle maison, bien aménagée et décorée.
Vicki and her gorgeous daughter were the perfect hosts for our Valentine's weekend. The cottage itself is beyond lovely and was for us an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of the City. Vicki takes time to suggest local places of interest and real care in the wellbeing of her guests.
Her hospitality is exceptional and even extended to giving us a lift to a local walking spot after my car had broken down.
I would recommend the River Cottage without hesitation and can say with confidence that we will be back!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Absolutely wonderful in every way - huge breakfast, great location and Vicki was super, helped with everything we needed while making us feel completely at home. Will definitely return. Thank you Vicki!
We stayed in 7 places during our two-week tour of Scotland, and Vicki's was by far my favourite. :) Every detail was so thought-through and lovely and Vicki was a marvellous host, with great recommendations both for the local area and Glasgow, which was our next stop. The house was gorgeous inside and out and our room was spacious and comfortable. Would highly, highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
Our host made us feel more than welcome. At her beautiful riverside house we had an amazing view of the river. Vicki made our stay feel like we WERE home. Breakfast was a special treat and her generosity extended well beyond breakfast. I can not share all the ways she helped us from advice on travel, assistance with a minor medical issue et al. Best of all was the conversation. Vicki happens to be a very special person. We just left the Old Mill Cottage and we are going thru withdrawal from missing her. While there, we met an intriguing fellow traveler with whom we shared many mutual experiences. The bed was so comfortable that I slept many great dreams away and sound of the gurgling river near the room was like a peaceful and spiritual lullaby. We have booked our last night in Scotland with her to share our experiences during our 2 week adventure and can not think of a better way to begin and end a vacation. I can only hope the rest of our trip thru Scotland compares with the wonderful experience we had at Old Mill Cottage.
We had a delicoous 3 nites/4 days with Vickie at her lovely home perched on the banks of a meandering stream. We've never been made to feel more comfortable or welcome by anyone! Breakfasts were divine and her family and cat delightful. We highly recommend the Old Mill Cottage and the surrounding areas for hiking, dining and sightseeing.
