We are a small family run guesthouse on the north coast of Bali. We are in a quiet and peaceful location, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist centers in Bali.
Some of our guests who have stayed with us include writers and people who have internet based businesses and they have found it is a quiet and relaxing place to chill out and still get their work done.
We have a small restaurant and feature a range of Balinese and Indonesian dishes. We also serve beer, wine and other spirits. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and we offer a range of choices. We also offer cooking classes for anyone who wants to learn how to cook Indonesian food.
There are a number of attractions and things to do in the area. Lovina is famous for dolphin trips, which you can book through us. We have motorbikes for rent and we also have two mountain bikes which can be used for free. The area is good for fishing and snorkeling. A trip to Menjangan Island is a must for diving or snorkeling enthusiasts.
Our aim is to provide a quiet and relaxing place to stay, with spotless rooms, great amenities, friendly service and a range of attractions and experiences to make sure your stay in Bali is a memorable one.
Lovina is about a 3 hour drive from Bali's international airport. The route passes through Bali's cool central mountains and the drive is very scenic and you can even spot monkeys along the way. We can organize our driver to pick you up from the airport or anywhere else in Bali for an additional fee. Contact us for further details.
If this room is booked for your selected dates, please check the availability of our other rooms, which are part of the same complex.
We update our calendars constantly and we have Instant Book enabled. Should you have any questions about our place, please do not hesitate to ask and we are happy to work within your budget. Contact us for low season specials.
Guests have access to pretty much all areas of our property, except for our own house and the restaurant kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
We live on the property full-time and are able to help with any questions or problems you might have. We do occasionally go away for travel (we need holidays too!), but we have staff to take care of our guests and we can always be contacted by phone or email. If you would like to know if I will be around during your stay, feel free to send me an email.
We love that our area is quiet and peaceful and you can still see traditional Balinese life. The local people are friendly and will stop you for a chat and sometimes even invite you to their house. The beach is great for a quiet drink and watching the sun go down, while be serenaded by local guys strumming away on a sometimes in tune guitar.
Small public buses (bemo) travel up and down the main road. We are close to the Perama bus station, which offers a budget shuttle bus service around Bali. We also have our car with driver, who can take you around for a reasonable price. We have parking for several cars and is included in the price. We offer an airport pick up service (not included in the price). We have 2 bicycles for guests to use for free and motorbikes for rent.
Other Things to Note
We have two dogs "Abby" and "Yuki" but they are friendly and great with kids.
We are just a small guesthouse and don't have any specific rules. We would appreciate it if you smoked outside of your room. We are flexible with check in and out times, as long as long as we have time to clean the room for the next guests. If you have any problem with the room or something is broken, please let us know as soon as possible.
Airbnb took this picture when we first opened, we have added more plants around the pool since then
Fantastic room and guesthouse/homestay which was very comfortable. Both Ammanda and Mike were pleasant and helpful and the additional staff helped us rent a scooter and do cheap laundry. Breakfast was good and the pool was refreshing. Well conditioned room, hot shower. A little noisy due to street dogs, but this is typical all over Bali. Would highly recommend.
It was an amazing and warm experience :) we got lucky and had the place to ourselves and the hosts were gracious, the pool was amazing on a late Balinese night!
We stayed only one night in this lovely place in Anturan on a 30-45 minute walk over the beach to Lovina and looking out over a small ricefield. Room is really big and clean. Bathroom is fine. People are friendly. Restaurant or place you have breakfast is fine, but tabels etc were not very clean. And the swimming pool is honestly not as big for swimming as the picture could suggest. Overall was this a perfect place from where to do a dolphin watch tour.
Très belle endroit , relaxant . Avec de belles chambres, piscine et sdb en exterieur. Rien a redire!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Moral of our story: try before you buy! In other words, unless you're absolutely sure this place is for you, book for the minimum stay and then extend (or go elsewhere), depending on how you feel. We made the mistake of booking here for 6 nights, and with a 'strict' cancellation policy, had no 'out' when we realised that it presented more 'cons' than 'pros' for us, and there were better options in the town of Lovina itself.
- lovely rural setting, peace and quiet in the evenings;
- spacious room, with desk and chair;
- great breakfast choices;
- good value Lovina Day tour (which takes you on a loop tour down to the Bratan Lakes area and back).
- molestation by mosquitoes on our first night (no mosquito net provided, although the rooms are just metres from rice paddies); - nightly visits to our 'Balinese' (open ceiling) bathroom by a rat, which left droppings on our toilet seat, and chewed our soap bars;
- nonchalant attitude of the hosts to our concerns about both of the above;
- inconsistent (poor value for money) pricing of a second (Singaraja) day tour we did, which lasted only half a day;
- no transport assistance (other than bikes which we felt were not a safe option for us on a busy main road) even though the distance to Lovina central is more than the 1.5 km suggested, the sides of the main road are uneven for walking, and the only public transport options are 'bemos'
(cramped and charging gullible 'westerners' whatever they like).
