The space
Every square inch of this classic 60s A-Frame has been meticulously and luxuriously designed and renovated this past year by a dynamic brother and sister real estate team. We invite you to luxuriate at this mid century modern masterpiece!
MAIN FLOOR:
As you enter Villa Thoma, enjoy a glass of wine or hot chocolate in front of our new Vermont Casting Stove-fireplace and enjoy the fire's ambiance with the touch of a button. Unwind the day on our new 'Teddy Bear' upholstered sectional sofa as you snuggle in our Pendleton sherpa throw blankets. Turn on the flat-screen, smart TV ceiling mounted in the living room (and both bedrooms) to watch your favorite movie or binge your "must see" TV series!
Others guests may choose to relax by playing our commercial grade, tabletop arcade game featuring all those classics you played as a kid. My personal favorite is Galaga, but you can also choose from 412 awesome games such as Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, PaperBoy, Lady Bug, Centipede, Q-bert and hundreds of more! Both kids and adults alike love this machine! It features a 22" screen, two bar stools and tons of fun.
Take off your ski boots on the entry way bench, topped with a winter-white sheepskin throw. Inside the bench you will find an electric boot dryer and of course lots of fun family board games for the best Game Night!
KITCHEN:
No expense has been spared in the Chef's kitchen gleaming with brand new, stainless steel appliances including our Bertazzoni oven, dishwasher and microwave. Chill your favorite beverage to the perfect temperature in our stainless steel Whirlpool digitally controlled refrigerator. The kitchen also features exposed wood beams, custom cabinetry, countertops and a sparkling, apron-front, white, ceramic Farmhouse sink. The kitchen is newly appointed with everything you need to create your favorite meal from bakeware, pots, pans, knives, wonderful cutlery and dishware! At Villa Thoma, our coffee station features a lovely red Keurig machine!
SAFETY:
At Villa Thoma, safety is brought to you by Simplisafe, featuring an entire house-wide, wireless alarm system including a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke detectors.
In the kitchen and both bedrooms, we feature at Villa Thoma Amazon's Echo Show. Just ask "Alexa" for the latest ski conditions, recipe ideas and even cook hands-free with step-by-step instructions. Use your voice to set timers, update lists, and see news or traffic updates. You can also watch TV on the 8" HD touchscreen, ask Alexa to play your favorite music or make a video call!
DINING:
Enjoy your evening meal or morning coffee on our mid-century-modern white tulip dining table complete with boucle-upholstered dining chairs to keep you warm in the Winter!
BATHROOM:
The pocket door by the stairs, complete with frosted glass panels, opens to the shiny, gleaming brand new bathroom. This bathroom features a porcelain pedestal sink, chrome fixtures, beautiful, large, white subway tile and even a skylight! Step into the shower and enjoy the chrome, exposed pipe shower head with hand sprayer with porcelain accents. We feature fresh, 100% organic cotton towel sets that are generously sized and fabulous terry-cloth covered bathmats (that your feet just sink into) from our local Garnet Hill headquarters in Franconia! We also have lots of 'hot air' from our buttercup-yellow hairdryer from Dry Bar!
HEATING/COOLING:
You can stare up at the stunning views of Franconia’s majestic trees, stargaze or just watch the snowfall through one of the 8 new Velux skylights at Villa Thoma. We also feature a tri-zone, Mitsubishi HVAC system downstairs and in both bedrooms, complete with anti-allergen filters that cleans the air while the system is use. This system works very well to heat the house in extreme cold temperatures.
UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS:
As you head up the custom stairwell, let our hand crafted - custom made, cable rail system with oak hand rails guide your journey to the best part of the A-Frame - the bedrooms! Enter each bedroom through a custom, solid, white, shaker 3-panel door.
At Villa Thoma, our bedroom suites are appointed with exquisitely, handcrafted, 'tongue and groove' Thuma bed frames & upholstered pillow headboard encased in luxurious pebble-woven linen, also from Thuma. This headboard cover comes off for washing to always stay clean. We also feature Thuma's signature side tables & trays, powder-coated and designed with a slim, offset stand for clean lines. These wonderful beds create a modern, minimalist foundation. Both of the two bedrooms are elegantly furnished with both a queen bed and a twin bed.
We offer the White Mountain's most glorious night's rest on organic, 'handcrafted in the USA' mattresses by Plush Bed out of California. This family run business has been a pioneer in providing all-natural, sustainable sleep while featuring the finest quality GOTS certified organic cotton and wool. The mattress is also GREENGUARD Gold certified. Each mattress on all 4 beds are encased in double mattress covers for extra cleanliness. Only the best will do and that is why each bed is made up with 800 thread count linens, luxury down comforters with duvet covers and fluffy, full-sized, sherpa, Pendleton blankets for extra toastiness.
Each bedroom also features two skylights as well as a flat screen, smart TV - ceiling mounted - so you can lay in bed, put on a good movie and just chillax!
ACCESSIBILITY & PARKING:
There are no steps to climb to enter Villa Thoma. There is plenty of parking outside and a lit, flat footpath leads to the front door.
OUTSIDE:
Enjoy the great outdoors, by making a fire in our Solo Stove 'smokeless' fire pit and have a seat in one of our four Adirondack chairs. We also have a gas grill for outdoor cooking and a huge picnic table with seating for 10!
