Enjoy a Puget Sound getaway while trying out tiny living. This 19 foot tiny house is set on a one acre waterfront lot in a rural wooded setting. It has all the amenities of home, just in smaller size. Access the beach via our private trail, paddle our kayaks, stargaze from the loft skylight, or hike the wooded trails at the state park close by. Located just 15 mins from downtown Olympia, 8 mins from Lacey.

The space
The Bayside Bungalow tiny house is perched on a hill above a shoreline bluff, with peek-a-boo views of the Puget Sound, nestled between fruit trees and surrounded by a lush garden and tall fir trees. A private trail with steps leads to our private beach and kayaks. This is a great place to relax, listen to the birds, wander the beach & hike through lush forest.

Tiny house amenities:
~Kitchen with mini fridge, cooktop, microwave & french-press coffee maker & cookware
~Pantry essentials: Oil, sugar, coffee, tea, & spices
~Mini gas fireplace & electric heater
~Sleeping loft with full size bed & stargazing skylight, accessed by ladder
~Natural soaps & shampoos
~RV-sized shower
~Hot water from an RV-style 6-gallon tank
~Hairdryer
~Nature's Head urine-diverting, hand crank composting toilet (designed for boats)
~Tiny house books & info
~Northwest guidebooks & tourist info
~Mini games
~Beach access via a private trail with steps on the property
~Kayaks & life jackets so you can explore the shoreline
~Private fire ring near the tiny house, plus firetop cooking tools
~WiFi

To keep you safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, reservations are spaced at least 1 day apart & the house is fully cleaned & sanitized with a CDC-approved alcohol-based sanitizing spray. Sanitizing spray, cleaning products & hand sanitizer are available for guest use. After laundering, linens are rotated out to increase shelf time before re-use.

Guest access
Enjoy a campfire at the fire ring near the tiny house. A hammock is for your use, hung between two fruit trees. You'll have the upper yard to yourself; the lower yard is reserved for other guests' use, but you may walk through to access the beach. The beach is accessed via a short, stepped trail down the bluff on our property. Kayaks, paddles & life jackets are provided for you to roam the shoreline afloat. Tolmie State Park is a stone's throw away, which has a beautiful estuary for kayaking through and several miles of hiking trails. A private parking area is provided for 2 vehicles, and street parking is available as well. This lot is shared with my parents who live in a log home on the 1-acre lot, and with guests in a small cottage that they rent out as well.

Other things to note
Unique features of the tiny house:

~Ceiling clearance in the kitchen is 6’ 2”.

~Climbing in and out of the loft bed on a narrow, steep ladder requires agility and balance. See the photos in this listing and consider whether you will be able to climb up and down from the loft without putting yourself in danger.

~Minimum Night Stays: Due to COVID-19, I am encouraging longer stays by only accepting 4+ night stays for dates more than a month away. 2-3 nights are bookable within a month of arrival, and 1 night stays bookable within one week of arrival.

~Wait list: If nights you are interested in are not yet available for a shorter stay, feel free to ask to be put on a waiting list.

~Pets are not allowed. Violation of the no-pets policy will incur a full charge of the security deposit.

~The Bungalow was self-built by your host & is based on the Cypress design from the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company.

Location

Olympia, Washington, United States

The tiny house is just a few hundred feet from Tolmie State Park, on a quiet county road lined with tall fir & maple trees. While the location is secluded, it is just an 8-minute drive from coffee shops, restaurants & grocery stores in Lacey, and a quick 15-minute drive from artsy, whimsical downtown Olympia.

I'm from Olympia, born & raised. I love to walk & bike around the city, and hike, forage wild edibles, ski & adventure outside whenever possible. I love the outdoors - a highlight of the pacific northwest. I enjoy sharing the best of the pacific northwest with visitors. Growing up, my family ran a Bed & Breakfast from our home, so hosting travelers is in my genes! I'd love to help you plan your perfect trip. I work part time at the Washington State Legislature, and host with Airbnb. Being an Airbnb host allows me more flexible free time to explore the wonderful region we live in. Hablo español. :)
