  • The listing was even better than what we expected. We felt bogged down by the rush of the city so the (short) time we spent in this beautiful cottage was exactly what we needed. It was clean, spacious, and elegant - everything from the decor, to the location, to the ample supplies in the kitchen, was perfect. Jennifer was very easy to get in touch with and the entire process was quite hassle-free. We hope to be back soon!

  • The Cottage at FairView is just a perfect place for us. Our family enjoyed everything immensely! Everything was as advertised so we knew what to expect. What was beyond advertisement was the politeness and communication, the beauty of the land, the library and the animals. Breakfast was amazing! If we ever stay near here again, there is no other place we would choose!

  • The host was very personable and replied and returned calls promptly.
The landscape is stunning and extremely peaceful. The peacocks add a unique experience - make sure you look up in the trees to find them.

  • This place is so lovely! Completely picturesque and charming. It was the perfect long weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of DC. There's good hiking not too far away, awesome hot tub for watching the sunset, beautiful horses and peacocks, rolling hills, and wonderful weather (not too hot, not too cold). It even came with two adorable and sweet little beagles who roam the property! We loved them. They were the icing on the cake. Jennifer is clearly an expert hostess, leaving out plenty of towels, robes, great pots and pans, coffee, tea, hershey kisses, guides, and even a nice bottle of wine. THANK YOU! The only thing is that we came just the two of us and our dog, and we had so much room to spare! (two bedrooms in fact) So, while this time we wanted a weekend away just the two of us, we'll likely bring friends sometime. Last thing, the screen porch is awesome! We spent a lot of time out there. Thanks again for everything. We hope to visit again soon,

  • My partner and I took a 3-day weekend and stayed at this cute place. It was more than enough room for two of us and my dog. We cooked and ate (the kitchen had everything we needed to make some delicious meals), laid out on the grass in the sun, sat on the porch swing, sat in the hot tub, watched the beautiful sunsets and felt enchanted by the animals (dogs, peacocks, horses and cows). It was one of the most relaxing and delightful weekends I have ever had. This is a wonderful place to get away and we would definitely come back!!!

  • This place is fantastic! Jennifer is a wonderful host...kind, considerate, and helpful, and the sweet animals around the property make the place even warmer...they're quite friendly and entertaining. We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and exploring the surrounding area, and we actually found the water pressure in the shower to be just fine. We definitely hope to be back sometime in the future.

  • We are just back from an outstanding weekend at Jennifer's cottage. The home was comfortable and cozy, the mountain views were incredible and the farm animals delighted our 16 mo. old daughter. We would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!

  • We booked this lovely cottage with less than 24 hours notice and Jennifer replied promptly. I really appreciated that as we like to be very spontaneous when we travel sometimes.
Very nice cottage , comfy beds, good wifi, lovely smelling bath salts, and the VIEW is to die for..... so bucolic and peaceful. We were lucky with the spring-like weather.
I was disappointed that the peacocks seemed shy ... we only saw them when we arrived ,,, maybe it was because of our dog which by the way was welcomed, too.... This place is very pet friendly. Far from the road so your dog can wander freely.
We couldn't get the tv to work but we didn't care about that with such good wifi and the lovely bottle of wine Jennifer left for us.
We didn't use the sauna or hot tub....
I would only add that a detailed instruction sheet on the tv, sauna and hot tub would have been nice.
would have loved to stay longer.
We didn't bring any groceries ... ran down to the riverview market in the am for some stuff. There is another market towards the west on the road,,,, Mountain market, maybe.
Would like to try Bare Necessities in Nellysford next time... it was closed sun and mon when we were there. We ate dinner at Devils Backbone brewery.... it was average.

Thanks, Jennifer,,, nice to meet you and thanks for letting us see the b and b, too.
