  • We are just back from an outstanding weekend at Jennifer's cottage. The home was comfortable and cozy, the mountain views were incredible and the farm animals delighted our 16 mo. old daughter. We would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!

  • We booked this lovely cottage with less than 24 hours notice and Jennifer replied promptly. I really appreciated that as we like to be very spontaneous when we travel sometimes.
Very nice cottage , comfy beds, good wifi, lovely smelling bath salts, and the VIEW is to die for..... so bucolic and peaceful. We were lucky with the spring-like weather.
I was disappointed that the peacocks seemed shy ... we only saw them when we arrived ,,, maybe it was because of our dog which by the way was welcomed, too.... This place is very pet friendly. Far from the road so your dog can wander freely.
We couldn't get the tv to work but we didn't care about that with such good wifi and the lovely bottle of wine Jennifer left for us.
We didn't use the sauna or hot tub....
I would only add that a detailed instruction sheet on the tv, sauna and hot tub would have been nice.
would have loved to stay longer.
We didn't bring any groceries ... ran down to the riverview market in the am for some stuff. There is another market towards the west on the road,,,, Mountain market, maybe.
Would like to try Bare Necessities in Nellysford next time... it was closed sun and mon when we were there. We ate dinner at Devils Backbone brewery.... it was average.

Thanks, Jennifer,,, nice to meet you and thanks for letting us see the b and b, too.

  • We had a lovely weekend at Fair View! Our favorite part was watching the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub. So relaxing and beautiful!

Our only complaint was the water pressure in the shower is pretty low. Otherwise we had a very comfortable stay. We would love to come back again!

  • How many compliments can I fit into one review? Our stay at Fairview was the best I've ever had through AirBNB. We came to Virginia to ski, but the cottage became our destination. With a library, a wood-burning stove, a fully stocked kitchen, and a porch that's perfect for a morning coffee while watching the peacocks roam, who needs ski slopes?

Anyone who comes within 100 miles of Fairview is missing out if the don't stay with Jennifer. We're already planning a return visit.

  • We loved our night at the cottage! It was so cozy and perfect. Jennifer was beyond hospitable coming over pretty late when we couldn't figure out how to relight the pilot light in the fireplace. It also has a wood burning stove which ended up being the best source of heat for the bitter cold night we were there. There's plenty to do around the area including loads of wine tastings and breweries. We would definitely recommend to friends and anyone who wants a quiet getaway and we will definitely be back!!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Jennifer's lovely cottage. There was plenty of room for four people, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the library book selection entertained us throughout the long weekend. The weather was particularly chilly during our stay, but the gas stove quickly heated the house. The view to the mountains was particularly impressive. Jennifer provided us great tips on what to do in the area and was very responsive the whole time.

  • Myself and five other friends stayed over on the Fairview Estate at the cottage on a weekend trip to the area. We skiied for two days at the nearby Wintergreen ski resort and found the cottage to be a pleasant place to spend our evening time and to cook breakfast in the morning. The estate is is a picturesque farm, complete with friendly animals, and even offers a hot-tub for post-skiing relief!

Jennifer was quite accommodating and responsive in the reservation process, ensuring that we had a great stay.

  • Fairview Estates Was Amazing and so was Jennifer as a host. You need to check it out. We had a great leadership retreat there and everything that we needed was taken care of. This would be a great place for a retreat, a weekend getaway or just time for relaxation. Thanks Jennifer!

  • We had a great weekend at Jennifer's cottage. The cottage was very clean when we arrived and the beds were comfortable. Heat was provided through a propane fireplace , which provided a nice ambience in the main room. The only downside to this was it could be a little cold (we had unusually cold weather while we were there, the lowest was around 15 F one night) but it wasn't too bad.

The kitchen was excellent, and has a full-size oven, microwave, toaster, and an awesome waffle maker. We really enjoyed cooking breakfast at this cottage and taking our time with every morning.

The view outside was amazing and the animals were a fun addition. At one point, we had 2 peacocks and 3 peahens, a turkey, a rooster, and two ducks congregating right in front of the porch.

Now for the host: we only saw Jennifer once in passing, but she was a fantastic host and we did exchange messages over AirBNB several times during the stay, and she always responded promptly. When bad weather moved in on our last day, she sent us a message to let us know about the freezing rain in the area, and even offered us the cottage for another night (at no charge!) if we felt unsafe traveling back. She was absolutely fantastic, and that kind of service is uncommon.

We would definitely stay here again; there is a lot to do in the area, with hiking, wineries, Monticello, Charlottesville, and even a ski resort which offers night skiing. We loved it, and Jennifer is the best host we've encountered on AirBNB!

  • The cottage was more than we expected. It was very homey and inviting. We had no issues, and we had every thing that we needed during our stay. The kitchen was stocked with pot and pans and such. My nieces loved the animals. Jennifer was very responsive to out needs, she communicated with us to answer questions before we arrived. There is great WiFi, and lots of information about local activities posted. Overall we really enjoyed the cottage is was like going home.
