  • We wanted a place to stay for a few days while visiting Mill Valley and Jeannie's was just what we hoped for. It was clean and comfortable, and located perfectly for our needs. Jeannie lives in the house above the separate apartment she rents out so you get privacy as well as her availability if needed. She's a very sweet person we would have loved to get to know better if we'd had the time. And a plus for us were the deer that seem to live just down the hill below the deck.

  • We stayed in Jeannie's guest house for a long weekend and had such a wonderful time. Mill Valley in and of itself is just heavenly -- relaxing and lush and sort of otherwordly compared to the big city we live in. Jeannie's house is set up in hills among a forest of Redwoods. We saw deer in the backyard! The guest house is well decorated and completely comfortable, and it has everything you need to cook and entertain yourself. The bed is particularly wonderful and cloud like. But the absolute highlight for me was the outdoor claw foot tub. I took several hours-long, steaming hot baths out in nature. Jeannie leaves a little screen out if you're worried about privacy, and it was such a beautiful, relaxing, indulgent way to spend the day. Great hikes nearby too and we heard some great live bluegrass concert music over a delicious breakfast at the Sweetwater Music Hall. All in all, it was a completely lovely stay in a very charming town. Thanks, Jeannie!

  • As my first AirBnB experience, this one was wonderful. Jeannie really does a great job. The place had everything you may need from condiments and spices in the cabinets to soaps and lotions in the bathroom. The place was very cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable. It rained one of our two days there, so it was nice to have such a homey-place to stay in! There were instructions everywhere for things, so we had no questions about turning things on, how to leave things when we left, etc.

Town is just a nice walk away which was great. The two palm trees in the back yard--beautiful! It was very private and exactly what we were looking for.

  • We stayed here while attending a wedding at the Outdoor Art Club. It was the perfect location, a short walk to downtown Mill Valley. Jeannie was a great host and the house had everything we needed for our stay.

  • The place was nice and definitely as pictured. Jeannie was a great host even if I only saw her for a brief second. :) The reason for the rating I gave is thus: One, it was definitely very cold in the basement and while Jeannie provided a small space heater, it really doesn't heat the place up. Two, if you are fortunate to drive a car, parking is extremely tight on those narrow streets unless you have a smart car. And three, it was cold, cold, cold. Anyways, the rating I gave is because the price was comparable to other places where you get to adjust the heat, and parking isn't a concern.

  • We had a lovely stay here. Everything was immaculate, warm and cozy. We looked longingly at the deck and outdoor tub but the weather never cooperated! We will certainly return.

  • Cozy, warm and quaint with many comforts (robes provided (!), comfortable bed with a variety of good pillows to choose from, coffee maker, space heaters, cable). Didn't get to try the tub on the deck, but will next time. The decor is a little older, but something about the layout and arrangement has such nice flow that it works. Good mojo there. Jeannie was kind and easy going giving us plenty of space. We would return in a heartbeat.

  • Nice lady and some simple charm to place, but curtains need to be much heavier in cold weather, as in November when I was there, than sheers currently on windows and sliding glass door. Also, I smelled stale tobacco throughout, though non-smokers like me would notice it when a smoker might not. Would help if guests wouldn't break the non-smoking rule.

  • We loved staying at the Mill Valley Jewel! We were thrilled the moment we walked in, and felt how wonderfully cozy and warm and comfy this place is. Jeannie has thought of everything here, down to the bathrobes to put on after a relaxing soak in the outdoor tub. The bedroom is cozy, and both beds are comfortable with nice sheets, comforters and assortment of pillows. The kitchen is well equipped, the living / dining area was arranged well and a notebook provided lots of useful information about the area. Last but definitely not least , the DECK!! Beautiful views of palm trees and the valley, comfortable and private and relaxing, especially the tub!!! After a weekend spent working in the city, this place felt like such a peaceful refuge. The location is great if you need to commute into the city, (only took us 20 minutes to get to Fort Mason) and also so convenient for exploring Mill Valley , just a short walk down the hill into town.
    This place is highly recommended!!!

Born and raised in Mill Valley and a local realtor, I know the area well. I have a great passion for the outdoors and enjoy hiking the trials of MT Tam and Marin. With all the cultural events that SF has to offer this is really a great place to live or vacation.
