Close to Hocking Hills, our updated cabin sits high up on a hill about 60 ft above the road in a very private setting. ~Privacy~Solitude~Peaceful~ Two large decks w/adorable heart railings, balcony, firepit, three levels of living space, 3 comfortable bedrooms, cozy living room & well-equipped kitchen. Short drive to Old Man's Cave, waterfalls, parks, lakes & the entire Hocking Hills region that also features fishing, wineries, kayaking, shopping & dining. Good cell service and internet here!
The space
Convenient location between Logan and Lancaster, Ohio. Our cabin is perfect for a family retreat, ladies getaway, crafters, anniversary, honeymooners or couple’s retreat. Heart Haus has plenty of space made for relaxation and comfort with room for everyone and our guests rave at how relaxing our cabin is! It’s a hidden gem nestled under a canopy of mature trees and convenient to Rt 33 in southern Fairfield County just 20 minutes to the entire Hocking Hills region, state parks, nature preserves and more. Guests all love the convenience of good cell phone and internet service at Heart Haus. Even Doordash delivers here.
LOWER LEVEL: With the main entrance into the finished basement level, you’ll find a family room, game or craft table, and children's play area w/games, half bathroom and a bedroom (bedroom 3) with queen size bed, 32” smart tv, dresser and a desk or vanity. This bedroom makes a great office for those that need to work while away or someone who likes it dark and private.
MAIN LEVEL: The main level includes a large & open living room and dining room with 50” smart tv and an open kitchen with all you need for meal prep including a pantry and well-equipped coffee & tea bar. The panoramic view from the main level is STUNNING! A sitting area in the kitchen is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee or tea looking out into the woods and the back deck. This is really a beautiful setting no matter the season since our cabin sits high up among the treetops. Access to the decks, firepit and grill are on this main level. The full bathroom, also on this level, features a tub/shower combination.
UPPER LEVEL: The upper level of our cabin features a master bedroom (bedroom 1) with very comfortable king size bed, 32” smart tv, dresser, closet, vanity, and private balcony. The additional bedroom (bedroom 2) across the hall offers two full size beds, dresser, closet and reading chair. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully designed for your comfort in mind. Please note there is not a bathroom on this upper level. The balcony off of bedroom 1 is a very special place and overlooks the hills and evening sunsets. This spot is great for Yoga, reading, stargazing at night and bird watching since you're up in the treetops.
The wrap around decks provide space for outdoor dining, patio seating, charming fairy lights, a firepit, charcoal grill and an upper level balcony all for your private use. This secluded location offers picturesque views of the night sky and surrounding hills. You won't believe the fall color experienced here too being surrounded by thick woods.
You’ll clearly see why our cabin is called the Heart Haus…you’ll feel the love throughout. From the German inspired heart railings around the decking to the hints of love in nearly every room, you'll feel right at home for a perfect cabin getaway!
Over 1 acre of privacy in the woods with an entire cabin to yourself and hardly another home in sight! You’ll be close to Hocking Hills, hiking, fishing, canoeing, shopping, dining, wineries, breweries, convenient to Rt 33 and situated between Lancaster and Logan. This location is just about 40 minutes to Athens and Ohio University too so a great place to visit your college kids.
GENERAL: Central air & heating, towels/linens, pillows/blankets, washer/dryer, hair dryer, iron & board, starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, trash can liners, starter pack of K-cups & black tea, creamer and sweetener. Shampoo/conditioner and body wash provided. FREE high speed wifi throughout the home and reliable cell service too. Our cabin is not wheelchair accessible and be aware there are two sets of staircases throughout the entire home. Small library and games for your use during your stay. All TVs are Samsung Smart TVs and you will need to log in and out of your streaming service as there is no cable service here. There are hundreds of Samsung TV channels automatically available. Hot water is from a tankless on-demand system so guests love the quantity of hot water here. We also have a generator during power outages which will turn on automatically in the event of a power failure and will power the main components of the home (furnace, central air, hot water tank, refrigerator, microwave, well pump and a few outlets).
KITCHEN: Cooking basics, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, mugs, chopsticks, pots/pans, microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, slow cooker, toaster, hand mixer, electric kettle, Hamilton Beach Flexbrew 2-way that can brew K-cups or coffee grounds for a full pot (bring your own coffee grounds, #4 filters and additional K-cups if desired), high chair seat.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING? We provide linens, bath towels, hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, dish soap and a starter pack of the following: K-cups, powdered cream & sweetener, black tea, toilet paper, paper towels and trash can liners. You will want to bring the following:

~Ground coffee and #4 filters if you like drip coffee (we offer you a Hamilton Beach FlexBrew that can make a 12 cup pot of coffee or single serve K-cup brewing)

- No smoking, vaping or use of any illegal drugs in the home. There is a designated smoking area outside
- Outdoor grill is for charcoal use only
- Adult supervision required for firepit use, do not leave fire unattended and burn height max is 2' flame height
- For each additional person over 6 guests, a $20/person fee will be charged per day. Max of 8 guests

AGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. The guest who books must also be staying at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.
MINIMUM: 2 night stay minimum, 10% discount with a 7 night stay.
STEEP DRIVEWAY: Please be aware that the driveway up to our cabin is steep yet well worth the drive. There are two flat areas for parking or feel free to back right up to the main door of the cabin and park there for the duration of your stay. Low profile cars are not recommended. **Four wheel drive or all wheel drive is recommended in the winter**. The hills in this part of Ohio are what make it so special but are definitely a part of the terrain here.
PARKING: Private driveway (4 vehicles max).
TERRAIN: Feel free to take in the natural surroundings of the home including the beautiful and mature oak trees, rock outcroppings and unique nature of this property. Keep yours and your guest's safety in mind at all times as there are small drop offs that can be dangerous. It’s also the woods so there will be bugs, ticks, critters, poison ivy and all that comes with the great outdoors.
