Feel free to admire and enjoy their company as you explore the property!
Guest access
You get full, private access to entire home, driveway, and outside seating areas, gardens and lawn. There is also ample parking. Enjoy watching the animals in the central paddock, and feel free to roam the field that is shared by all on the farm!
Other things to note
DOGS & PETS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED! As much as we love our four legged friends, our top priority is keeping our farm animals safe from unforeseen encounters.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED INSIDE OF HOUSE. Please feel free to use the patio space, and please be mindful.
Everyday we feed and tend to the animals. Most animals are in the central paddock. Feel free to join us in feeding them!
***PLEASE HELP US KEEP ALL GATES TO ANIMALS CLOSED. Specifically the gate directly next to the coop, the entrance gate to field, etc. We will make you chase and herd the alpacas ;)
***Please always accompany your children when around the animals. It is best to observe the alpacas, rather than walk directly up to them and try to pet them. You can hand feed them with us at feeding time!
Current code only allows 6 adults —additional children are allowed, up to a maximum of 10 total guests. We abide by this ordinance. Rentals of 30 days or more allow up to 10 adults. We want to accurately disclose that this home is larger than a 3 bedroom home, for those seeking 31 days or more rentals.
Our Gardener comes every Wednesday afternoon and sometimes on Sunday mornings. His name is Jaime and he is the nicest human in the entire world!
We have some garden boxes close to the house for your enjoyment! There is always something new growing in most seasons. Please help yourself when the veggies are ripe and ready. For lettuce, please use a knife to cut the heads off so they can regrow ;). There are also roses, lavender and other flowers all around!
We DO NOT HAVE TV’S or SMART DEVICES within the home. The further away you are from all of these things, the more relaxing and enriching your experience will be! We do love a good movie, so feel free to cuddle up and plug in your iPhone or iPad into our lightning port to HDMI that is connected to our projector, or put on your favorite playlist throughout the house via SONOS! Our one request with music, is to please keep sound at a MINIMUM AFTER 9pm during the week and 10pm on the weekends to respect all of our neighbors.
We have lots of interior design, cooking, philosophy and “how to” farm and garden books. We hope you enjoy them, get inspired and keep them fresh for future guests.
Due to our location in the country, cell phone service may be spotty, but you shouldn’t have much of a problem. We have WiFi at the house.
Please, no additional guests on the property at any time that are not on the reservation or have been cleared by me first. Thank you for your understanding :)
This house is surrounded by amazing local wildlife beyond our furry and feathered friends. At night you will hear the buzzing of the cicadas to lull you to sleep, a few of our resident owls, and lots of birds living in the oak trees. We do occasionally get visited by coyotes that typically pass through. This is the country, so the cleaner you keep the kitchen counters, the less bugs there will be.
Please note there is no luggage storage before check-in or after check-out. If you'd like early check-in, make sure to request it in advance. In most cases we cannot offer it, but we will be happy to let you know in case it is possible (though we may not be able to let you know either way until the morning of check-in in many cases). It is EXTREMELY rare that we can offer late checkout, but if you request it in advance as well we will let you know if it's possible. Requests the morning of for late checkout are not possible due to the need to schedule our cleaners in advance.
Guests are solely responsible to check themselves for personal items and remove them before check-out. If any items left behind are found, we take NO responsibility for their safekeeping in any way. As a courtesy, found items may be arranged to be picked up in Santa Ynez at a time that is possible based on our availability; we do not mail forgotten items nor take any responsibility for their storage, transport, nor condition at any time, even if we agree to arrange for pickup.
