Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Falcon’s Folly is a colorful, quiet, tiny house nestled alongside a historic barn among two wooded acres of Appalachia, conveniently located just 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain, 20 minutes to Asheville, and 25 minutes to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure.

The space
Situated on our 15 acre mountain farm, this modern tiny is the perfect place for a unique, relaxing WNC mountain getaway. Within its cozy 36-foot wingspan, you’ll find two lofted bedrooms (one queen and one full bed), a living room, a dedicated work/office space, and a fully equipped kitchen with induction cooktop, convection oven/microwave, and vintage refrigerator/freezer. Outside, surrounded by a pond and the headwaters of the Broad River, you’ll have access to two outdoor porches, a fire pit, picnic table, hammock, and various outdoor games. Amenities include linens, dishes, and coffee maker. In addition, the accommodation offers Wi-Fi access, a 40-inch Roku TV, and a combo washer/dryer.

The space is ideal for 1-2 people, but can accommodate small families and up to 4 people cozily and comfortably.

Both sleeping areas are lofted and semi-private from the rest of the house. The queen bed is easily accessible by a tight set of stairs. The full bed is tucked above the porch and is accessed by a wall-mounted pipe ladder. Please ensure that you and your guests—especially children—are physically capable of climbing stairs and/or a ladder before booking this tiny house.

Falcon’s Folly is a wilderness experience. The area around the tiny house includes access to two acres of woods, a pond and a babbling creek (neither of which are swimmable). There is ample Appalachian wildlife, including black bears, bobcats, and coyotes. Unpredictable mountain weather is normal. Be prepared and stay conscious of your surroundings.

If you plan to use the fire pit, please plan to pick up firewood in town before your arrival. We also have bags of firewood for sale on the property upon request.

Guest access
Guests will have private access to the entire tiny home and property. Barn access not available at this time.

Other things to note
Hate those outrageous cleaning and service fees that hosts often sneak in at booking? So do we! We are neither a distant rental company nor a professional vacation service, which means we manage and clean the space ourselves, which means we don’t need to charge you a cleaning fee! Cool, right? With this is mind, please be kind and leave the place clean enough upon check out: strip the used bed linens and gather the used towels by the washing machine, and leave your dishes clean and in the drying rack… that’s it!
