Travel Well, Travel Often!
Although Keston was away, he phoned and kept in touch via email. His assistant Victoria was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. This is a great place to stay in Harlem.........Go!
My friend and myself spent four days in NYC and chose to stay at Keston's apartment. We are glad we did because it more than met our expectations. The apartment is exactly as pictured: the guest bedroom is light, clean and spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. Also, the place is in a very quiet area a mere five minutes from two subway stops.
Unfortunately, Keston was away during our stay so we didn't have the chance to meet. Even so, he was very helpful and would write everyday to check how we were doing and ask if we needed anything. We will definitely choose Keston's place if we have the chance to come to NYC again. Hopefully, we'll be able to meet him then and finish our stay with one of his appreciated photo shoots!
Our host did a good job of making us feel welcome. He met us out the front of the apartment and kindly carried our luggage up the stairs. He showed us around and explained a lot about the services, restaurants and shops in the local area. Our host was also very helpful in explaining the subway to us. When it was time to leave he went with us to assist with our luggage and hailed a cab for us. He also took the trouble to find out about purchasing the tickets for the M60 bus to the airport.
We liked the local area and always felt safe, even very late at night. The local area was well serviced by two subway lines, good shops and places to eat. It seemed to be a diverse and vibrant community. There were many architecturally beautiful buildings in the area.
We found our host Keston easy to communicate with and he was always a willing to answer questions and share information and knowledge with us.
The apartment was very clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and the wifi was fast and efficient.
We enjoyed getting to know Keston our host and were grateful for the way he enriched our travel experiences.
I was very surprised in how easy the entire process was. Keston was very accomodating and responsive en route to his residence. His room was comfortable and clean. As long as you respect his rules and respect that it is also a professional environment, you will have a great time.
We had an incredible trip to NYC and really enjoyed
staying at Keston’s apartment.. Keston was so easy to communicate with and always responded in a timely manner.
We enjoyed the clean and very nice apartment. Everything was prepared for our arrival. It was just a two blocks from a subway. I definitely recommend this place.
This was my first AirBnB experience and because it was such a great experience, it won't be my last. My daughter moved to NYC and I wanted to spend her first week there to help her get settled in. I also preferred to spend my hard earned coin on enjoying the city rather than those expensive NYC hotels. So we were two women traveling alone. I would feel perfectly comfortable staying at Keston's by myself. Harlem can have a reputation but it has changed a great deal in these years.
Keston is a wonderful host. His space is very clean and we never felt unsafe. The queen bed was hotel level comfy and our towels were nice and fluffy. The bathroom is very clean as well. He also provides some continental breakfast which was great because we tend to stay up late and sleep late so that was enough to hold us until we got to a restaurant. You cannot wear shoes in his place so take a pair of flip flops or slippers. As fab as NYC is, it is very filthy and no one wants that in their home so I had no problem with that at all as it keeps his home clean.
Keston really knows the area and pointed us to a lovely French African restaurant named Ponty. Take his advice on some of the restaurants and try them. Strivers Row is just a lovely area and is now pretty diverse. We stayed out late and took the C train to 135th from Manhattan and walked to his place in less than 10 minutes. I pretty much love the convenience of the subway but a taxi is easy to get as well. The neighborhood is very residential and quiet at night. He works from home so if you're lucky you might see a model or two. Be adventurous and have a wonderful time.
