Warm, inviting home that feels like a getaway. Everything is well-kept and the host is kind.
Can't wait to return! I spent the entire month of November 2013 as a guest in this beautiful, sun-filled studio apartment. By the time I left, it felt very much like a second home. The flowers blooming outside my window, the hummingbirds in the garden, the lemon tree in the fountain courtyard and many other unique features, all helped to create a wonderful, restful experience. Laurel, Stephen & David were all very welcoming and helpful. Rarely did I have to ask for anything however because the apartment was so well appointed with just about everything I could have possibly needed during my stay. I acquired a bike my second day and enjoyed many rides on and off Stanford’s campus. The pedestrian bridge that connects Menlo Park and campus was a wonderful find and just minutes from the apartment. I often biked to the local Safeway and into the charming shopping district of Menlo Park. I did appreciate the parking space right by the steps to my apartment but I rarely used my car because the bike riding was such a joy. While I did have other family members join me during my month's visit, much of the time I was on my own. I felt very safe and secure in the neighborhood and on this property. It is extremely well maintained, well lit and private. While there is not a television or cable service in the apartment, high speed internet is included and was excellent for streaming any videos or programming that I needed to catch up on during my stay. Actually, I enjoyed the quiet and caught up on a good deal of reading in the comfortable chairs set by the windows. Truly, Laurel’s listings are rare finds and you should jump at the chance to stay here (if you can find an opening!) Thank you again Laurel... Hope to be back with you this spring! Judy Reihner
Had a wonderful stay in this sunny, private studio. It was exactly as advertised. Comfortable bed, quiet location, clean and cozy. Enjoyed a lovely walk to and from campus each day of my stay. Very easy check-in and check-out, hosts were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend.
This clean well-lit and nicely furnished studio was perfect for our visit with family nearby, affording us easy proximity to downtown Menlo Park and Palo Alto. We liked all the windows, with trees all around that provided a natural screen...truly a tree house!
We are so pleased to have found Laurel and Steve's lovely studio. This was a big step up from a hotel room. We were visiting our daughter's family and new grandson and this location close to Stanford and shopping was so convenient.
The studio was clean, well appointed and the hosts are delightful.
We would love to be able to stay here again on future visits.
Laurel's studio was perfect. It has a beautiful backyard and the studio was well-equipped with everthing that I need. Laurel and her husband, Steve were so kind and nice people. They gave me an answer so fast whenever I ask them a favor, so I could stay there without any inconvenience. I've stayed there so happily, so I highly recommend Laurel's studio.
I had stayed for about 40 days at Laurel's studio. It was very nice experience for me and my two daughters. Steve and Laurel are very responsive and kind.
The studio is located in the nice community and near Stanford uni. so I could use the free shuttle provided by Stanford.
Nice and cozy place. If I go to California, I will definetly stay here again.
Thank you! Steve & Laurel!
This efficiency apartment was perfect for my husband and me because it was within walking distance to our family. It was also close to the grocery, several eateries, Starbucks, yogurt, and even the pharmacy. The apartment was very clean, neat, private, and quiet. There was a slight problem, which the owners took care of immediately. They were welcoming and gracious and we would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Laurel, for a very pleasant stay! We'll call again next time we plan to be in the area.
The place is really lovely - Laurel and Steve are super nice hosts, the place is in a terrific location in MP, the place itself is super nice & clean, has a fully-equipped kitchen. Highly recommend.
Great little studio. I stayed for two months, and it had everything I needed. It's two miles from the center quad at Stanford, a nice bike ride. Laurel and her family were terrific. They were responsive when I needed something or had a question, but otherwise I hardly saw them. And I really loved the studio. Open the blinds in the morning and the sunlight floods in through the many windows; open them up and you hear a million birds singing in the trees. It was lovely. If I need a place to stay near Stanford in the future, this will be my first choice.
