The Neighborhood

A tiny medieval hamlet in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, Lucignano d'Asso is home to Borgo Lucignanello, a group of historic houses which have been transformed into exclusive self-catering holiday apartments, ideal for those travelers eager to experience the very best of this, one of Italy's most loved regions.
Borgo Lucignanello provides beautiful guest accommodation in five apartments and a farmhouse all of which characterized by a pleasing combination of modern day comfort and old world charm. In whichever house you choose to stay, you'll find everything you'll need for a dream holiday in Tuscany.
For some six hundred years the hamlet has been the property of Piccolomini, an ancient family the name of which is linked to the history of the Italian Renaissance. Restored and transformed into a stunning period residence, Borgo Lucignanello is the perfect place in which to enjoy an exclusive vacation, in complete peace and tranquility.
In this glorious Tuscan hideaway, guests while away the hours bathing in the sunshine by the panoramic swimming pool, participating in tastings of Borgo Lucignanello's extra virgin olive oil or a cooking class held by a local chef, or touring the historic wineries for which this area of Tuscany, in the province of Siena, is famous.

If you've ever dreamt of getting married in Tuscany, with an entire village as location, then you'll fall head-over-heels in love with Borgo Lucignanello. Borgo Lucignanello hosts weddings and receptions for as many as 80 guests (40 of whom can be accommodated in the resort's apartments). Catholic marriage services can be celebrated in the hamlet's Church of San Biagio or in the equally enchanting Church of San Pietro in Villore, in nearby San Giovanni d'Asso.
For civil weddings, the mayor of San Giovanni d'Asso marries couples in a beautiful, frescoed room in the town hall. Symbolic ceremonies and simple blessings can be performed in the location of your choice: including Lucignano d'Asso's charming little private chapels.
Depending on the number of guests and the type of reception chosen (sit-down meal, buffet, aperitif etc.), wedding parties can be held in the garden of the Casale Sarageto or on the terrace by the swimming pool.

  • “Wonderful Borgo with unchanged charme"
Unique place to stay close to the “Must be seen” Tuscan countryside sights and medieval villages and towns. Very quaint, old, special houses and a Villa with all comforts and swimming pool with a breathtaking view. The Countess, with her charm, and Doriana, the perfect host, are very welcoming, friendly and will make you feel quickly home. Great place for couples, family, everyone in fact. Definitely not for one night experience, but for your whole Tuscan trip!

  • I've being working at this borgo for more than 7 years and I'm not tired of it yet! It has what I call the "wow effect"! Its amazing views of the Tuscan hills, especially at sunset; its peacefulness; its authenticity, its stunning infinity pool.... I had a long experience in luxury hotels and at the very beginning I thought that its style was a bit too rural, but then I learnt from our regular guests that in these historic houses you can enjoy the real Tuscan life and you can feel "at home" away from home. A unique experience that many guests like to repeat year after year!

  • I highly reccommend staying at Borgo Lucignanello!!
I worked there for two years and it's a wonderful property. Time seem to have stopped in Lucignano d’Asso, everything is enchanted, you feel like living in a fairy tale. The contryside and the views could not be more spectacular, and the houses are beautifully restored and so well kept. But what makes the difference is the people. The countess is extremely charming and welcoming. Doriana, her assistant and property manager, is just indefatigable and has a great passion for hospitality. She is always ready to provide you with the best tips and suggestions, making your stay memorable. I warn you, if you come here once, you might get addicted to Borgo Lucignanello!!

Consigliatissimo !!!
