The space
"This place is INCREDIBLE, you have put so much effort, thought, time and love into it!" - Elyse

Forget the trappings of the modern world, and escape to the country.

Over 70 years ago Little Wren was the original little bush shack on the Glenwood estate and still now she sits, a sanctuary in the sublime hinterland of rolling hills, wild forests and mountain weather.

This is a place to escape the world and reconnect with each other.

Little Wren is a serene space, with abundant natural light, and sweeping views of the majestic valley.

Relax by the crackling log fire, making for the most romantic atmosphere as you curl up in your luxurious queen bed at the end of the day, just a step away from the French doors opening to the garden and endless acres of lush countryside.

Be swept away by the sounds and sights of the countryside, the native birds, farm animals, kangaroos, and perhaps even possums, wombats, wallabies, echidnas and koalas.

Lose yourself in the legendary Black Range Forest accessible on the property. Adventurers can leave the tracks to ascend to the top of the ridge, 900m above sea level, and enjoy the stunning views and scenery in this private bushland.

Guest access
Little Wren cottage shares the 40-acre property with the owners but has plenty of privacy. The cottage is located off a shared driveway 300m from the main house. You probably won’t even see us! Note that the black building next to Little Wren is an old unused shed, not further accommodation. You will have complete privacy.

Guests are welcome to roam, to walk through the fields or hike in the mystical Black Range Forest behind the house.

Other things to note
Back in your cosy nest, Netflix, Stan, Prime, Apple Music means there's something for everyone. Sonos soundbar lets you stream all your favourite music from the internet, indoors and out.

The kitchen provides the essentials for preparing meals, with comfortable dining space for 2. While no built-in oven or stovetop are available, there is an electric fry pan, a mini oven and a plug in stove.

Breakfast supplies are provided, including fresh bread, farm eggs, local jams and honey, butter, cereals, milk. We also have a basic pantry including olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper, tomato sauce, a beautiful selection of teas and coffee.

Firewood is provided for all guests. Please note that the outdoor firepit is not permitted and unavailable during the CFA declared Fire Danger Period from 27th November.

Little babies are welcome, however there is only space for one. A portacot and high chair are available on request. Note the cottage does not have a fireplace guard, so the property is not suitable for mobile infants.

Accessibility is not ideal for those with mobility issues, there are a few small steps around the place, and the terrain could be tricky.

Lives in Hesket, Australia
Hi, I’m Niki. I live in Hesket with my husband Craig, and our two little kids. We spend a lot of our time working on the property, gardening, foraging for mushrooms which I sell locally, and looking after our cats, chickens, guineafowl, sheep and alpaca. We love this area for the beautiful scenery, the fresh mountain air, the fantastic local wines, the stunning change of seasons, the native bush, the friendly community vibe and the abundant wildlife. We aren't just about the countryside, we also love music, stereo equipment, gigs, craft beer, wine, and food. I lived previously in Melbourne, London, Seoul, and am from NZ. Having travelled a lot myself, I wanted to create the perfect little country getaway that doesn't require you give up any of your creature comforts or luxuries from home.
