The space
Imagine a warm and luxurious timber frame space for your family and friends to gather which has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to feel comfortable while providing large spaces to all be together and make memories. Whether it’s cozying up in the theatre room for a movie night, watching the stars in the outdoor hot tub, sitting around the fire table, playing with your kids on the climbing wall, gathering around the 12 person table for a meal, or simply watching the sun rise with a coffee in your hand, you will immediately feel at home here.
Let us tell you how the home is setup so you have a good understanding of the space as you plan your trip.
The upstairs is a luxury retreat with each of the 3 bedrooms having their own ensuite bathroom (super rare for a mountain cabin that usually has everyone fighting for one bathroom!). There is a chef’s kitchen with all the utensils/pots/pans for cooking, a 12-person timber table that can expand even further, cozy gas fireplace in the main living room, an upstairs loft area with comfy couches and a 65” smart TV, board games, free washer / dryer (with detergent), and a gear room with an industrial boot dryer that can dry 8 pairs of boots and gloves at the same time. The entire home is cooled via central AC for comfortable summer days.
The newly developed basement continues the timber frame theme and has 3 more spacious bedrooms (2 king bedrooms and one bunk room with a double over double bunk bed and a twin over double bunk bed), 2 full bathrooms (one with a walk in shower and another with a tub/shower combo), a fun kids climbing wall, and your very own movie theatre room with reclining couches, wet bar, Netflix/Prime/DVDs, and an HDMI cable for your own gaming console. You will notice the warm in-floor heating and the big windows in each bedroom bringing in light.
Step outside to your backyard retreat. After stepping off the wrap around deck (with BBQ for grilling), you will see the custom designed back patio with eating area, hot tub, and fire table. The 6-person Beachcomber hot tub sits under a massive timber frame pergola that provides protection but lets you see the stars / scenery. There is a hanging egg hammock chair next to the hot tub. The fire table is surrounded by fun cedar stumps and is permanently connected to natural gas; it can easily be turned on for warmth and ambience (FYI - the master gas timer is next to the back stairs and needs to be turned ON before fire table can work). The whole back area has large wind panels constructed to keep you protected and there is a 8-person outdoor picnic table for eating outside. In the summer enjoy the endless Saskatoon berries all around the property (eat as many as you like!). Kids can also play on the outdoor play structure surrounded by pea gravel (please supervise accordingly)
Guest access
The whole home is available for your use. Don’t worry about booking a relaxing mountain getaway only to realize there are other groups staying in the basement or other areas of the home! This place is all your own. There is a paved highway turn off that we share with our 2 neighbours and a 200 foot private gravel driveway just for our home (plowed in winter) that goes to a parking area for around 3-4 vehicles right outside the home. You will have access to all the wrap around decks and outdoor spaces of the home.
Even though it is very private home we RESTRICT large outdoor parties / weddings / gatherings as we love our neighbours and don’t want them to be disturbed. If a complaint is received and not immediately addressed your stay may be at risk.
Other things to note
Pets - We allow pets in the home (message us first if you need to bring more than one) but require guests to keep their animals off of the furniture (beds and couches), to clean up droppings, and to keep pets contained outside (no fence). We do charge a $75 pet fee as we consistently have to put in extra cleaning hours after a pet has stayed (sorry even if you have “the cleanest dog in the world” we still need to charge this…)
