Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Escape to our spacious 5BR farmhouse on a 156-acre working sheep dairy with sweeping mountain views and a private pool. Perfect for multi-gen families and groups with 2 living rooms and a large dining area. Hike the High Peaks, enjoy fall foliage, or ski and ride just 15 min away at Whiteface Mountain. Only 25 min up the valley to Lake Placid. Come relax and reconnect at Blue Pepper Farm.

The space
Blue Pepper Farm is a working sheep dairy in the Au Sable Valley of the Adirondack Mountains. Our 156-acre farm sits across the valley from the hamlet of Jay and its historic covered bridge along with incredible views of Whiteface and the Wilmington Range.

Guests enjoy a staggering mountain panorama from the porch, deck, or pool overlooking the lush pastures where sheep and laying hens graze. We are certified by Animal Welfare Approved, follow organic standards, and pride ourselves on healthy soils, pastures, and animals.

The house has 5 bedrooms; one king, three queens, and two twin beds (cribs available). There are 3 bathrooms. Great for multiple families and large groups in any season. Enjoy in-floor radiant heat throughout the house during the colder months on your weekend ski trip to Whiteface.

BPF is 25 minutes to Lake Placid, 15 minutes to Keene, 15 minutes to Whiteface, and surrounded by trailheads for great hiking. Take a jaunt down to the Jay Town Green for live music on Saturday evenings or a relaxing dip in the river. Enjoy a nearly 3 miles walking/xc ski/snowshoeing perimeter trail on the property.

Tyler and Shannon can help you plan the quintessential Adirondack stay with detailed info on hiking/backpacking, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing and canoeing as well as the connections for fantastic local meats, cheeses and vegetables through our relationships with local farmers, chefs, caterers and restaurants. We're happy to set you up with a local caterer for an unforgettable farm-to-table dinner during your stay here at our farm.

By choosing to stay with us, you're not only supporting our farm and family directly, but also contributing to the vitality of our small mountain community. We believe in the transformative power of local dollars circulating within our local economy; bolstering local businesses, and fostering a sense of interconnectedness among neighbors. Your decision to book with us means more than just finding a comfortable place to lay your head – it's a commitment to sustainable tourism and the preservation of the unique character of the Adirondack Park. We look forward to welcoming you into our home and sharing the beauty of this place with you.

Guest access
Guests enjoy the entire 5 bedroom farmhouse, multiple decks including a screened porch, pool and surrounding yard, including a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, a horseshoe pit by the pool, along with sledding hills and xc ski trails in the winter.
Guests are asked to not visit the barns, animals, and workshop unless on a tour with the farmers, which we're happy to accommodate.

Other things to note
We love to help support our neighboring farms, the Keene Market is on Sunday's from 9:30-2 on Marcy Field between Keene and Keene Valley on 9N (a 20 minute drive) June - Oct. Also, inquire ahead of time about setting up a catered farm-to-table meal during your stay!

There are two other small rentals on the farm that share the entrance driveway. A yurt and a tiny house are situated in the woods several hundred yards further out the driveway past the farmhouse and barns.

Our main product, sheep milk yogurt, is available May-Nov. Lamb, eggs, yarn, woven blankets, and tanned sheepskins are available year round.

My work: Farmer
Lives in Jay, New York
Shannon and I operate a small sheep dairy producing yogurt, lamb and fiber. We have two boys, (14 and 12). We live, farm and play in the Adirondack Mountains and place much importance on healthy food and healthy land. We love hosting folks at our farm to share the awesome view and the tasty local foods. We live just across the street from our farm stay rentals and enjoy connecting guests with local hikes and activities.
