Neighborhood highlights

The Branch is centrally located and a short walking distance of the University of Georgia campus, UGA Bookstore, and Sanford Stadium. Also closeby is the popular and charming Five Points Area which is known for its unique, yet sophisticated atmosphere of nationally recognized dining, drinking, and shopping establishments. Take a walk in the other direction, and you are not far from The Bottleworks which is known as one of Athens’s trendiest restaurant and entertainment venues. This local landmark was originally constructed by Coca-Cola in the late 1800’s and was redeveloped as a mixed-use project in 2003, winning a Georgia Trust 2003 Historical Preservation award for excellence in historic rehabilitation. There are so many options close to The Branch enhancing your stay as you will be in the heart of the city and all the advantages which that affords.

Just like the “Tree that Owns Itself”, The Branch on Milledge has deep roots and an impeccable lineage. The Jackson Oak room overlooks Milledge Avenue on the northeast corner and is named after the “Jackson Oak”, a white oak that according to Athens’ legend was “deeded to itself” sometime between 1820 and 1832. According to local folklore, Colonel William Henry Jackson cherished his childhood memories under the tree so much that he wanted to protect it in perpetuity. Estimated to have commenced growing sometime between the mid-16th and late 18th centuries, The Tree that Owns Itself fell in a windstorm and was replaced in 1942 with a seedling cultivated from its acorn. Now the “Son of the Tree That Owns Itself” grows at the top of the last cobblestone road in Athens. The Branch on Milledge seeks to honor The Tree That Owns Itself and to model ourselves after this bit of Athens’ history: strong, locally rooted and grown, and quintessentially Athens.

My work: 3tree Realty, LLC
Lives in Athens, Georgia
Founder and Broker for 3tree Realty, Ceci Churchwell has been actively in Real Estate since 2005. She began her career working for a National firm, and then transferred her license to a smaller setting. In September 2010, she left to open 3tree Realty, LLC. Originally from Athens, Ceci attended the University of Georgia in Athens and Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. After college, she worked as a trainer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for computer software training companies in Atlanta, Orlando, Greenville, SC and Greensboro, NC. Upon returning to Athens, she began her real estate career. Mother of 4 sons, Ceci is heavily involved in the Clarke County public school system. Her sons attend Clarke Central High School, and all attended Clarke Middle School and Barrow Elementary School. She has volunteered as a parent representative for the School Council, in the classroom, and is a member of the PTA. She currently serves as the CCHS Swim Team treasurer and an active member on the Odyssey News Magazine’s Booster Club where she is currently the Banquet Committee Co-Chair. In the past, she has served on the ‘A is for Arts Committee’ and helped with various fundraising events. Ceci is also a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Athens. There she has taught Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School, worked in the nursery, and is active in Women’s Ministry and a member of a Community Group. Ceci also serves on the Board of Directors for the Athens Area YWCO and is both the Pool to Path and the Eastside Eats Fundraising Committees. In the spring 2018, she served as the Campaign Manager for Allison Mauldin who was running for Superior Court Judge. As part of a family of swimmers, Ceci is also involved with Athens Bulldogs Swim Club and the Dolphins Swim Team. For ABSC she serves as team treasurer and is currently serving a 2 year term as president of the Dolphins Parent Board. In 2010, after enjoying great success in many facets of the industry including both residential and commercial transactions, Ceci decided to attain her broker’s license and open her own firm. By 2013 Ceci was confident in her methods and was finding real success in her approach. But she was also feeling a bit lonely. So she brought on a second agent, then another and another, and the firm grew steadily, eventually consisting of more than ten agents. Under Ceci’s wisdom and guidance, 3tree Realty has organically spawned a culture deeply rooted in collaboration. Our veteran agents naturally take on a mentoring role when new agents come on board. The results are a strong and well-rounded team that assists and supports one another, and has a whole lot of fun together in the process. We just know that our client-centered collaborative approach ultimately yields agents that are more trusted and more effective. Ceci, and 3tree Realty, are passionate about customer service, knowing our market, and educating our clients. Please contact us for all of your real estate needs. 3tree Realty: Deep Roots, Strong Relationships, Real Results.
