Located 25 mins from downtown Austin, TX, the house is surrounded by hills and is just a short walking distance from the Austin Lake. Very peaceful and beautiful. You can have your own private room, your own bathroom, a private deck facing east.
The room on the upper level has a comfortable double size futon bed, shelves and a small closet. The bathroom is on the main level of the house next to the living room.
You will share kitchen, living room, laundry room, and beautiful front porch downstairs with the owner of the house. The owner is away at her business from early morning to late evening and will take care to be out of your way and afford you privacy. There are no pets in the house.
The neighborhood is great for walks and relaxation. The nearest shopping (The Galleria) is only a few miles away with great restaurants nearby.

My father stayed at Lata's place when he visited us recently. We live in the same neighborhood, so her place was super convenient. When I went over to get the keys for him Lata greeted me at the door with a smile and showed me around. She has a lovely place near the Lake Hills Community Association beach and park. It's cozy and comfortable, and my father had a very pleasant stay. Lata does in fact work most days from early in the morning to late at night, so although you are sharing some common space with here, you're unlikely to be inconvenienced by this. I highly recommend Lata's place. For the price, it cannot be beat!
A friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Lata's home. The home was very clean and organized, with a great seating area outside to enjoy. It was in a quaint and quiet neighborhood. Lata was very easy to coordinate with when it came to making plans, along with being a very friendly and a wonderful host. I would highly recommend staying here!
Although we never got to meet Lata, our stay went smoothly. Her place was very nice.
Communication with Lata was great, everything was how she said it would be. We never actually crossed paths, but all went smoothly!
Perfect Stay! Lata is a perfect host! She is very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable about the area. Her home is quiet, comfortable, & VERY clean! Don't miss the amazing view from the upstairs balcony! Thank You Lata! :)
Me, my husband and child (3 years) stayed in Latas house for one night. It was a great experience. Lata was really friendly and we let us use the house as we wanted to. The location of the house is amazing! We dank the morning coffee at the balcony listening to the birds singing and enjoying the beautiful view. I would definitely go back if we´re visiting Austin again.
Lata was friendly, professional, and accommodating. We shared dinner our first night, and she was a pleasure to talk with. We felt we had excellent privacy throughout our stay. She was flexible around check-in/check-out times, which was a big help. The pictures you see are accurate, but we would say they don't do her house justice. It is homey, neat, and completely relaxed. The deck was our favorite spot to hang out, and perfect for morning coffee. 10/10, highly recommend!
Even with the great pictures, I was surprised by how much I liked the house. Lata was accommodating, even though I arrived while she was out of the house and came back from a wedding fairly late. I would be happy to stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at this private home. Lata is very nice and went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. Nothing fancy here, but a nice change from hotels along the freeway. We especially enjoyed batting up early and sitting on the upper deck to watch the sunrise and listen to the birds.
Had an amazing try to Austin. Lara's private oasis in the hills west of Austin was ideal. Amazing views, very Zen and useful space, the outdoor rock path down the hill behind the house was a good morning workout and the house was inviting. Though we didn't cross paths, and I hope I didn't wake her coming in late from a concert, Lata was a great host. Would stay again and wish we could have met bc she seems like a very interesting person.
