The home was exactly what I expected. We had the opportunity to eat dinner with Lata one evening which was great! She does stay completely out of your way and privacy isn't an issue at all. I would absolutely stay with Lata again!
Lata was welcoming and the cottage is a nice location if you want that 'wilderness' feeling - plenty of woods and deer around.
The room is stark in regard to design with just a futon, shelves and a lamp, and there is a skylight over the futon so the sun will be 'in your face' in the morning ;)
Overall it's a good value for the price.
Lata was quick in her responses and clear in her communication. Checking in and out was easy. The cottage is in a quiet residential neighborhood in the woods about a 25 min drive outside of downtown Austin. The cottage is cozy and airy with plenty of balcony space to lounge on that overlooks a small wooded ravine. The room is bright and the futon bed is comfortable. It was a great place to stay to both explore Austin and the Hill Country.
Lata has an amazingly beautiful house, comfortable and nicely decorated, and so green all around! The balcony is exactly as pretty as in the photos. We enjoyed a glass of wine there in the evening, listening to the creek behind the house, and had a sunny breakfast there the next morning. I am particularly grateful that Lata received us so graciously despite our late arrival at her house in the evening. The location is easy distance to Austin or the Hill Country, but you do need a car to get there.
Lata's house is absolutely beautiful, extremely clean and very relaxing. We had a perfect stay.
Yes, the pictures are real! This is a great peaceful spot just up the hillside from the lake (walkable for a swim). Lata was really helpful and communicated well leading up to the booking. The house and my room were clean, basic and simply furnished and that's how I like it. Lata's instructions on how to get to her place were perfect.
Lata was a wonderful hostess and we were lucky enough to visit her shop during our stay. Her home was just as described and was in an absolutely gorgeous area! We loved seeing the deer in the morning. My boyfriend and I cannot wait to go back! Highly recommended!
