Perfect little retreat in the Cévennes Gardoises. Fully equipped and heated with a wood stove in the winter.

The space

Tiny individual detached house on our property in the French Cevennes. Ideal for a short quiet stay away from it all. Fully equipped and independent (including shower, washbasin, toilet and kitchen). Recent ecological renovation. Suitable for two adults. We cannot, unfortunately accept small children as they might be at risk when sleeping on the mezzanine.

The village of Soudorgues is really isolated and ideal for a quite retreat. There is a nice restaurant in the village but only sporadically open outside the summer season. We'll provide you their number upon request.

The scenery is magnificent and a good starting point for a hike or bicycle tour.

For those traveling in the footsteps of Stevenson there is a stable for your donkey and grass in the yard.

Guest access

The Petit Pavilion is small but perfectly formed. Indeed it is quite small, but with a cosy bed upstairs and a remarkably well equipped kitchen. Perfect if the weather is good. Nice villages nearby and great cycling and walking.

We had a wonderful Time in Soudorgues, Hope to come back soon!

We had such a lovely time staying in Soudorgues. The little house had everything we could have wished for, and is set in its own little bit of walled sunny garden. And Soudourges itself is a dreamy verdant spot, that we would love to return to time and time again. Three peaceful days, totally much needed off grid. This is such a wonderful find.

We had a fantastic time here. Soudorgues is lovely, peaceful and the views are spectacular!! The gite was very cozy and homely - perfect for 2 people! There was an amazing restaurant in the town of soudorgues - not very vegitarian friendly, but great food! We also had pizza from the town's pizza oven on saturday and a little shop was open a few mornings to buy local produce. There is a town nearby called Lasalle that is a little bigger and has a nice market on Monday morning and has a nice vibe to it! Definitely worth a visit, if you are looking for some peace and tranquility! :)

The Petit Pavillion has charm and utility. We were unable to meet Alain but he arranged a contact for our arrival who we found upon arrival had kindly made a fire for us. The amenities all work very well, the bed was comfortable, the wood stove warmed the space through. The village is tiny and lovely but has an incredible store with food and local wares. A near by village of Lasalle was remarkably well equipped with shops and stores as well. It was a delight to stay here!

We loved our stay at Petit Pavillon! The mazet is a cosy little place, which is very well-equipped and thoughtfully designed... The stairs, shelves, work surfaces, sleeping platform and ceiling beams are fantastic and although the house is small, it feels spacious because of the high roof. The wood burner is incredibly efficient and kept us warm, we were very pleasantly surprised at how quickly it heated the house and were grateful for the wood supply. The shower room is under the sleeping platform and the shower itself was great with plenty of hot water. Waking up to blue skies and sunshine and such a beautiful view from the bedroom window was the icing on our cake! Soudorgues is a pretty little village with lots of walking paths from the door and the Epicerie had everything we needed, including groceries and WiFi. Thank you Alain for providing such a wonderful space and Elsa for making the house so comfortable and putting up with our poor translations and late arrival! We are totally in love with this little place and can't wait to return!
