This guesthouse features local art and eco-friendly touches. In addition to style, you'll enjoy natural light, privacy, comfort, and a great location close to hiking, running and biking trails, the state Capitol, and downtown Olympia. The sofa bed from Joybird features a surprisingly comfy memory foam mattress, and we are happy to make it up for those who prefer to hang out on the first floor or cannot climb into the loft.

The space
You'll be staying in a detached suite. After entering through the side door using your access code, you will see a fold-out sofa, dining area, and kitchenette with a sink, air fryer/toaster oven, two electric burners, coffee maker, french press, microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, and tea kettle. Past the kitchenette is the bathroom with walk-in shower and toiletries, hair dryer, etc. provided. Climb up the ladder stairs into the loft for access to a queen sized bed, dresser, and comfy lounging chair. Each level has a small smart TV you can use to access all your streaming accounts, and Wifi is provided, with plenty of space to spread out papers - including art supplies that you may find within the guesthouse, if you're feeling creative. You will notice lots of natural light, but blackout curtains are provided, should you prefer darkness when you're sleeping.

Guest access
Outside, you share access to our back deck with us - our house is just a couple of yards away, and you may be observed by our cats, Willow and Pendleton, as you enter and exit, but they stay indoors. We usually share the 2-car parking with our guests, but if you need both spaces, let us know, and we can leave them both open for you. EV charging is shared with owner, and needs to be scheduled in advance.

* For stays of longer than a week, we can arrange to wash your laundry for you and/or provide light cleaning once per week for a fee of $10 per service. Just contact us to set that up.

Other things to note:

- Several great running/walking routes from the house, including a 20+ mile paved trail. Be prepared to see homeless camps in Olympia in general; however, the area around our house is peaceful and safe, and simple awareness of your surroundings will go far toward ensuring your safety throughout town.

- Smoking allowed outdoors only, and not within 10 feet of the guesthouse or main house. There will be a fine if the host finds traces of smoking indoors.

- Not ideal for infants for extended-stay bookings.

- No shenanigans/partying in or around the property.

We're located in Olympia's Eastside neighborhood, just a few blocks away from a full service grocery store and a park. Downtown is just over a mile away, as are popular walking/cycling trails. Several cafes, restaurants, and shops are walking distance. There's even a French bakery/cafe one block away!

I am a music professor and part time Pilates instructor/studio owner. My husband Dennis (aka Kent) and I love coffee, books, good food, and laughing! Of all of the places I have visited, perhaps my favorite was Cape Town, although I also loved Sydney when I was there. I enjoy knitting and creating crafty projects in my spare time. As a guest I am typically quiet. Normally when I travel it is for work, and so I am happy to just have some down time.
