The Grain Bin and Airplane Hangar Apartment (a combined experience) are available for overnight accommodations, sleeping up to 10 guests. Although distinctly separate from the White Barn wedding venue, they are conveniently located on the same property and are a great place for family and friends to gather!
The space
Due to COVID-19, we now require 24 hours between reservations. The health and safety of our guests are our priority. Also, during high season (May-October) and holidays, a 2-night stay is required on weekends (Thursdays- Sundays). You may book a 1-night stay mid-week. We are currently booking into 2023, so if you do not see your date open on the calendar, please make a request.
Of note, there may be a wedding at the White Barn Wedding Venue at the same time as your rental. We are giving first option to rent to our wedding couples. If you are not part of the wedding/ wedding party, we would ask for your utmost respect of not making loud noises and not visiting the wedding (I.e no wedding crashers)!
The Grain Bin is approximately 1/10 of a mile from barn so there is a separation. Please see photos for location perspective and rental area. Most homes in neighborhoods are closer than the Barn and Grain Bin. If this is of a concern, please contact the host for further details. There are also weekends in which we are not hosting weddings as well.
About the Grain Bin:
The Grain Bin is a newer construction made from both new as well as many recycled/ reclaimed materials. It was once an actual bin to store grains that was removed from a farm and rebuilt at our location! This 2 ½ year process took place during Covid with limited supplies and contractors! Many of the items you will see are reclaimed including the grain bin itself, metal ceiling (reclaimed from the Hangar apartment roofing), bathroom flooring (from an old barn in Prospect), Vintage white farmhouse sink (reclaimed from an Amish farmer in Mercer, PA), Berry Table (from an estate sale), first level granite bar (reclaimed from a church in Pittsburgh), barstools (bases from a Pittsburgh sale) and the list goes on! The circular grain bin structure proved to be a challenge for many contractors requiring almost triple the labor of a typical square building.
The Airplane Hangar is a more contemporary space with some farmhouse touches featuring an entry way, spacious living room, gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and top of the line appliances (Bosch dishwasher, gas burner stove, and convection oven) and will lock off from the Grain Bin area. Lock is on inside of French doors on airplane hangar side.
The lower level of the airplane hangar features a brushed metal bar area, entertainment room with projector (and pull-down murphy queen bed), pool table room, and Laundry room. The airplane hangar entertainment first floor areas and grain bin first floor are connected by a concrete patio which overlooks the beautiful acreage and grass airplane runway strip.
We have free onsite parking for guests.
There are TV’s in the main gathering areas (Hangar living room as well as Hangar entertainment area).
There is also wireless WiFi throughout the house.
Guest access
The Grain Bin and Airplane Hangar apartment are on a shared property with the White Barn wedding venue. During the stay up to 10 guests will have access to the property that immediately surrounds the silo from the Kennedy road entrance/ frontage up to and including the Silo and surrounding concrete patio areas (a map can be provided).
The White Barn Venue is rented separately and should NOT be accessed. If you have also rented the White Barn, please only access it during the times on your contract. The White Barn and the surrounding acres (including the pond and firepit) are not part of this rental. We would ask that the furniture/ tables, etc. be kept in their original location and not moved from venue to venue. The Airplane Hangar itself is also our storage area and should not be accessed during the stay.
Regular Check-in is 4:00 pm and Regular Check-out is 11:00 am. Optional: Early Check-in (Noon) & Late Check-out (4:00 pm) for $100 surcharge each.
Micro-events such as rehearsal dinners, small weddings, corporate events and retreats can be booked with a minimum 2-night stay.

Other things to note
We provide linens and towels for your stay. The bathrooms are stocked with liquid soap, shampoo & conditioner.
The kitchen is furnished with dishes to serve 8, plus an assortment of pots/pans, utensils, glasswear, serving trays, etc. There are 2 Keurigs (one in the hangar apartment and one in the silo) for your convenience, and you can bring your own K-cups. We have stocked the pantry with herbs and spices, cooking oil and vinegar.
We have a projector in the hangar apartment first level entertainment area as well as televisions in the main gathering areas. There also is wireless WiFi throughout the house.
The fireplace may be used in the winter, as well as spring and fall, depending on the outside temperature. There is also a fire pit outside for your usage.
We ask that you do the following simple things at the end of your stay:
* Laundry baskets are provided for bed linens, towels, and bathmats, and return to the laundry room.
* Gather garbage in bathrooms.
* Load the dishwasher and do a final wash.
* Return furniture to its original locations.
* Generally, leave in the condition that it was found.
