4 NIGHT MIN FOR HOLIDAYS THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, NEW YEARS, EASTER

Cedar Creek Falls Retreat is a house with close to 2200 square feet total and is located near the Cedar Creek Falls and on an acre of land in the exclusive area of Pine Hills 4 miles from historic downtown Julian in San Diego's Back Country. Nestled in majestic oaks, our house sits just off the main road in a secluded hillside with views to the mountains. City lights can be seen from the downstairs porch. A wrap-around deck includes a roomy balcony deck with tables and chairs which is a great place to watch sunsets through the trees. Two floor to ceiling fireplaces with Heatilators (fans that blow the hot air in) help you keep warm on cold nights.

Our single family home was built in 1979. This is a family-friendly, dog-friendly cabin. It’s perfect for people who want to chill and not worry if someone puts their feet up on the coffee table. The house is fully prepared for people traveling as a family or a group, and with dogs. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking essentials except the actual food although there is a good amount of condiments in the fridge and dry food in the pantry . Some spices are stocked in the cabinets. Dog bowls, treats, and other supplies in pantry.
There is a dedicated kids' room with age-appropriate toys, a train table, farmers market stand with play food, kid-sized table and chairs, dollhouse, and a TV monitor with Apple TV and DVD player.

This is truly a beautiful and magical spot where wildlife is attracted to our front door. That said, I do want to point out that THIS IS A CABIN IN THE WOODS AND BUILT INTO A HILL AND UNDER A CANOPY OF TREES. While that makes being upstairs akin to being in a giant tree house, it also means that you get what comes with trees and the mountains—leaves on the decks, ants, spiders, birds, squirrels, field mice, raccoons, and an interesting variety of other bugs and other wildlife. The place is thoroughly cleaned upon checkout of the previous guest and a leaf blower used on the decks and balcony. It still won’t be perfectly clean—that is cabin life—trees drop leaves, pollen tassels, acorns. Yes, there will be spider webs outside under the balcony. The spiders eat the bugs. We like spiders. Embrace the area you are in vs expecting a “city experience in the mountains” and enjoy the deer, turkey, and variety of birds, right from the living room couch. We cannot state this any clearer! If you don’t like the woods and being under them, then please book a more modern home in Julian that has a large clearing and is not under a ton of giant trees. Ours is a unique tree house experience. It is a place where many spiritual, church, yoga, family reunions and retreats happen and where many happy memories are made.

INSTRUCTIONS: We have a cabin manual for guests at the cabin

FIREWOOD- We do not supply firewood and fireplaces are on a “you use, you clean” basis meaning the ashes are to be emptied into the black ash bucket which is on each fireplace hearth and disposed of in the proper metal trash can outside- NOT IN OUR WELL. The fact I have to state this means someone did it.
_________________________________________________________________________
THERE IS NO HUNTING OF ANY KIND AND YOU CANNOT FIRE LIVE ROUNDS IN JULIAN which includes killing birds and squirrels with a pellet gun.

NO AXE/KNIFE THROWING AT THE HOUSE SIDING- again, if I am stating it it's bc someone actually did this. Do not throw axes are our trees either. We are losing trees to disease and beetles at a rapid rate in Julian and I pay thousands of dollars to treat them. I don't want to speed the process up by having people throw axes into them.

STAYING WITHIN THE FENCED AREA and walking from my gate to the tire swing tree is fine because that is my property and county land. Any other trail, path, route, road, whatever is private property. You will be trespassing.

WE PROVIDE LINENS AND TOWELS AS WELL AS SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER and SHOWER GEL. All other amenities are not guaranteed. WiFi is 50 mega whatever’s

BBQ- The gas grill has been left uncovered too many times and is now a charcoal grill. Please clean when done but to not leave charcoal trays out in rain. Place coals/ashes in fireplace ash bucket and into metal trash can outside by shed.

BRING- extra TP, paper towels, Tupperware, foil, ziplock bags, plastic wrap, bottled water if you don’t want to use our Britta, coffee, toothbrush/toothpaste, lotion (it’s really dry up there), food and bug spray in spring and summer.

WARNING- acorns drop in the Fall. I’m not Harry Potter, I have no control over acorns falling onto cars.
If there is SNOW you will need chains or a 4WD to get in and out of our house. We do not provide towing or plowing so please plan accordingly.

***RURAL AREA*** amenities cannot be guaranteed as we are limited by the area for service calls especially during a global pandemic.

Guest access
the entire house, balconies, the acre it sits on, and the driveway. Garage holds cleaning supplies and has no access.

Note: the vacant land and dirt roads that lead from my property (beyond the tire swing and marked on the ground with wood), is Private Property and should not be trespassed. The owners camp out there.

Other things to note
I have many movies as screeners from my work in the film industry. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM. THEY ARE TO BE LEFT AT THE CABIN.
The main living space is upstairs and has 2 private bedrooms. The downstairs rooms are not private; one has the door to the downstairs entrance and the room behind it is a converted basement area previously an arts and crafts room. The plumbing in the basement room is not insulated.

This house sits into a hill so it is relatively private and the effect is like being in a tree-house. The views from the balcony face the city.

Please stay on my property and don’t venture off the roads/trails. You will actually be on someone’s property.

The property directly in front of mine (from the balcony facing west) and past the tire swing, is not mine. It’s land owned by a private party. You are free to walk to my tire swing outside of our gates and to the left. An excellent walk is to go out of our back kitchen door, up the path past the fake well, thru our small gate at the top to the main road, turn right and head up the incline, then right at Fletcher. You will circle around to a clearing point and on some days can see to the ocean. You can also reach this from the kitchen back door, up the steps, to the little gate there at the street.
