This beautiful apartment has been serving Jazz Fest and other New Orleans visitors for over fifteen years. I'm happy to say that many of my guests have made return visits over the years, some to get married, some to enjoy their honeymoon, or just because they've fallen in love with our wonderful city and the gorgeous City Park neighborhood.
The guest suite has its own private entrance, with a private garden with a deck, a table and umbrella. You enter through an eat-in kitchen that has a tiled counter, stove, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and pretty much anything else you would need. Then you have a bedroom with hardwood floors, full-sized bed, television with cable, ceiling fan, armoire, a very quiet and efficient hotel style air-conditioner/heater, etc., and a beautifully tiled bathroom. Good WiFi. Your host provides all linens and towels, as well as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, etc.
The apartment is one short block from the Streetcar and buses. Close access to supermarkets and numerous restaurants. $12 cab ride to the French Quarter, One block from our gorgeous City Park and a short walk to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Sculpture Garden and Bayou St. John. Also an easy walk to Jazz Fest, the Voodoo Fest, and two blocks to the Endymion fun. This is a very safe and beautiful neighborhood, full of lovely homes and nice people.
I'm a frequent traveler myself and have been to almost every state in the US, as well as to about 30 countries. I know what it takes to be comfortable and welcomed in a new place, and have made every attempt to make the apartment cozy and relaxing. My deep involvement in the New Orleans music community allows me to share with you some good info on what to check out musically in town, especially those hidden-gem type performances. I also am somewhat of a foodie, having been a restaurant owner and chef in another life, and will be happy to point you towards some nice places to eat and shop.
These wonderful accomodations are most suitable for a single person or a couple. Sorry, No smoking indoors or pets.
Just had a great weekend in New Orleans! Brian greeted us on the evening we arrived and showed us around. The apartment is in a great neighborhood very close to City Park. It was a very cozy place and felt like a quiet oasis. The weather was great and having a bit of outdoor space to ourselves was great. The apartment was very thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. He even had snacks and cold beverages for us which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely stay there again!
We truly loved staying here and having Brian as our host. If it were up to us, we'd live here permanently. The location was perfect - quiet, safe, and convenient. We didn't want to stay in a touristy area and preferred somewhere with a local vibe, but still a quick cab ride from the French Quarter and close to public transportation. We loved exploring City Park and walking around the charming neighborhood. The house is also next door to a delicious restaurant called Toups' Meatery (try their shrimp stew!).
Inside, the house was clean and cozy, with a comfy bed, gorgeous tiled bathroom, and lovely kitchen. And it had everything we could possibly need - a stocked fridge (hummus, yogurt, beer, etc), fruit, crackers, shampoo/conditioner, reliable wifi, and a handy binder Brian put together with FAQs and on-point recommendations for food/entertainment. It was so nice to be able to cook breakfast every morning and enjoy it outside on the private deck. More than anything though, Brian is a terrific resource and an awesome person. He's also a talented musician - definitely try to catch one of his shows when you're there.
Thanks for everything, Brian! Looking forward to coming back soon :)
We totally enjoyed our stay at Brian's house. The location is convenient for public transportation; the neighborhood is nice. Brian's manual for guests is helpful and thoughtful. You have your own private suite including bathroom & kitchen. His recommendation on food and music are great! Thank you, Brian.
You'll be happy and comfy at Brian's. The apartment is the perfect spot in New Orleans! Not only is it located in a quiet neighborhood, it's about 1 block to bus/streetcars, good restaurants and coffee shops and 3 blocks to City Park. Brian knows what travelers like and need to be comfortable. There to greet you is Abita beer, breakfast staples, coffee, half & half and even hummus. The Welcome folder is so helpful - has almost all the info you would need. The apartment is spotless, beautifully appointed and very comfortable for 2 people. We really enjoyed the little side garden, having morning coffee or evening drinks and snacks before heading out on the town. Brian makes sure you have what you need and is a great, unobtrusive host! We'd stay at Brian's place anytime, and hope to do so in the future.
Brian is a wonderful host. He is cool and very thoughtful. We found a basket of fruits and some products absolutely essential when we arrived. And believe me, when you've travelled for about 14 hours it's a plus!
His apartment is comfortable and clean. It is located in a quiet area with shops and restaurants nearby. It isn't in the hyper center of New Orleans, which make it relaxing, but you can easily take the public transport (only 15 minutes) or, if you like it, walking as we do.
I strongly advise it to you!!
Brian's place was great! A very clean, neat house, with everything you need. It is located very close to the park, that is a "must go". Its is really beautiful and has a delicious coffee place that serves the traditional Cafe Au Lait and Beignets in there.
His place is a 10 minute drive to everything: the french quarter, frenchmen's street... and it is a very nice, quiet neighborhood. There was always a place to park right in front of the house and there is a lot of restaurants and shops close by.
Brian was a great host. Because of him, we got to see and hear the best music in town. He would email us with the local music schedule everyday and would tell us what he would consider good options for us to go!! They were all really good!!!!
He also leaves a guide with maps, bus schedules and tips on where to go and what to see in NOLA.
He was kind enough to leave us water, fruits, coffee and some local beers in the fridge and was avaliable by email to help us with everything we needed.
We had a great time staying at his place and would recommend, specially if you want to experience a little of New Orleans outside of the Quarter.
Very cool., just like Brian!
The apt was Clean, quite , peaceful ,nicely newly decorated , with fully appointed mini kitchen, . Brian was a GREAT host, very helpful , respected our space but was available if needed. Don't let the pealing paint on the outside of the building scare you, inside and a gem, all redone. Looks great! We were there for Mardi Gras and Brian had a fresh King Cake to welcome us. A nice touch. The place is a little far from the French quarter , we rented a scooter from Eagle rider so getting around was easy ,Brian's street is a dead end and very safe parking was easy with scooter and car , I wasn't a big fan of the quarter , SO many other cool places to hangout in New Orleans, locals stay away , so did we Brian gave us great tips. Don't miss the dive Broadview seafood ( take out) for Cajun crawfish and turkey neck cheap and delicious! I highly recommend Brian's place. If you get lucky you can hear him play the guitar , a pro recording artiest
Thank you Brian you cool cat , PLEASE hit us up anytime your in San Francisco
I give the place 5 stars
Brian was an incredible host, and his apartment was a perfect oasis in New Orleans. Impeccably clean, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed, and more than enough room for two people. Even came stocked with beer, coffee, and snacks.
If you're at all interested in music or the local scene, ask Brian for advice before you arrive (or while you're there). He knows what's up.
One note on the location - although it's about a $12 cab to the French Quarter, I'd describe the location as a plus. Beautiful and interesting neighborhood, lots of great restaurants and bars nearby, right on City Park, and great access to public transportation.
A perfect location near city park and the Carrollton street car line.
Brian was a wonderful host giving us music tips and leaving the apartment with snacks at the start.
Thank you Brian!
The apartment was great, had everything we needed, including a sweet little deck to sit on and enjoy the sun -- plus a delightful, well-written guide to New Orleans. Brian was wonderfully communicative throughout the process.
The apartment was larger than we expected, and generously supplied with coffee, beers in the fridge, fluffy towels and shower products. The weather was rather unseasonably chilly (due to a cold front related to Hurricane Sandy) but the heater worked perfectly and kept us nice and toasty.
The surrounding area was lovely: quiet, super close to the park/bayou/cemeteries, lovely homes, and even some special, off-the-beaten path discoveries.
