Other things to note
Please remember that you are staying at a house, not a hotel. Treat the cabin with respect & if any issues arise, we will do our best to take care of the problem as soon as you notify us & as soon as possible. Note that there is no one living on site.
In addition to the house rules, please ensure to review them:

Here are some additional things to consider:
* The beginning of the gravel driveway is a bit steep. (Guests w/ sedans haven't had any issues). The driveway accommodates 2 vehicles. Overflow vehicles can be parked near the house or clubhouse.
* 4WD is not necessary to access the property, but note that there are some narrow & windy roads on the scenic drive to the cabin.
The main roads of the community are plowed if it snows, however in cases of severe weather (particularly during winter), you may not be able to leave the property immediately due to road conditions. If you are staying in winter, you may need a 4 wheel drive vehicle & should be prepared to encounter these conditions.
* We will provide the code for the gate to the community, however guests must register with the security staff at the main gate upon arrival. Security staff will provide a guest pass & help with directions. If arriving outside of normal business hours (Mon-Sat 7:30 am to 5:30 pm), please register with the security staff the next business day.
* There are stairs up to the front door/main level of the home.
* Always turn the gas fireplace off when leaving the cabin.
* All bed linens & towels are provided. A Starter Kit is provided that includes some paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, & travel size shampoo, conditioner, & body wash. You may run out of these items during your stay, so you may want to bring extra.
* We do not send maintenance to the property during your stay. Only after you depart.
* As we are a secluded mountain retreat, the closest gas station is 12 mi (approximately 22 min), closest grocery store (Food Lion) is 11 mi (approximately 20 min) & closest restaurant is 6 mi (15 min) away. We recommend stopping for gas & groceries on the way in to stock up for your stay & to plan accordingly.
* Mountain cell service can be spotty. We have recently upgraded our internet connection, however note that outages can occur on the mountain. Luckily there are many other things to enjoy if that does happen. You can connect your phone for Wi-Fi calling.
The cabin has Smart TVs (Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime/Disney+), so just bring your own passwords. A DVD player & a small selection of movies are available for guests.
* Our cabin is located in a wooded area, so you may see & hear bugs, furry critters of all sizes (including but not limited to deer, squirrels, & rodents), & reptiles. Our property has regularly scheduled pest control, however, we can’t guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in & around the property.
Please try to keep the doors closed, do not leave food outside to prevent entry of unwanted critters. Also do not feed any wildlife as they are wild animals. No refunds will be provided if a local critter visits the property.
* Children are welcome at the cabin, however, the cabin may not be suitable for young children because of the indoor fireplace, spiral staircase, & high outdoor deck. Parents should use their own discretion when booking.
* Since the main level and deck is high off of the ground, do not sit on any of the railings. Please ensure that all guests, children, & pets are monitored at all times while on premises.
* No refunds for weather/natural disasters/power outages/other things that are beyond our control (including availability of community amenities).
