About This Listing
This studio just outside Tahoe City has a private entrance and parking for ONE car. There is a queen bed and we can provide a twin blow-up mattress perfect for a child, or a pak-n-play if you are traveling with an infant. There is a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot pot and some kitchen essentials. There is also a clock radio with an ipod dock, a small flat screen TV with DVD player and wireless internet.
The apartment is about 4 miles to Tahoe City, 9 miles to Alpine Meadows and 11 miles to Squaw Valley. Tahoe Cross Country is also just a couple of miles away, not to mention Northstar and Diamond Peak etc, etc. There is a trail head at the top of the block perfect for snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling and making angels and snowmen (great hiking in the summer). Although you will have plenty of privacy including your own separate entrance, this is attached to our home in a fairly quiet neighborhood, it is not a place for a party.
If you are interested, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION, I respond quickly to messages and like to confirm availability as soon as possible. We prefer two nights on the weekends, but will take one night reservations on off seasons and weeknights. I am flexible with check-in/out unless it conflicts with another reservation. In that case, check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is a 11 AM.
PLEASE READ HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING!!!
One other thing, a lot of reviews lately have said the place is too small. It is 350 square feet, about the size of a hotel room. There is an entry way and closet for storage. This is not a cabin or a house, it is a studio with a kitchenette.
*BTW, can't change the neighborhood. I don't know why it says "Waters Edge," but it's not on the water. We are about a mile from the lake.
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING!!
Please consider turning off all the lights and turning down the heater to 55 degrees when you leave.
This studio is for two people and one child (or two small children) MAX! I have many inquiries for four or even five people. This many people will not only not fit, but are absolutely not permitted!
Winter: This is snow country, please be aware of changing weather and road conditions and be appropriately prepared. Be aware that it is illegal to park on the road (Nov. 1 - May 1) or in anyone's plowed spot, that is not your own. Although we do provide ample parking, it is for ONE car only! I do have a strict refund policy even in the winter. I will not refund due to weather unless the interstate closes for a period of time. In other words, I won't refund just because it is snowing, unless it is a major storm and road closures limit your ability to get here.
Spring, Summer, Fall: This is bear/raccoon/critter country. Never leave food or garbage in your car and be sure to lock the doors. The bears know how to open car doors and although pretty harmless, they will make a big mess!
We really liked the neighborhood, it's very close to Tahoe City, so we got to explore the area.
Lisa was very nice and made sure to be available in case there was anything we needed.
I only wish I had read the description of the place better since the studio only has a small kitchenette and not a full kitchen. But in the end for our short stay was more than enough.
Lisa was great, whenever I had questions she replied right away.
The place was really clean and she had soap, shampoo and towels.
The room comes with a mini fridge and microwave too!
I would definitely stay again on my next trip to Tahoe.
Amazing private spot in a beautiful wooded setting. Microwave and coffee maker were convenient and bed was very comfortable. Great home base after long day of mountain biking. Little bistro table was a lovely spot for morning coffee and sunshine.
Had a great time at Tahoe and staying at this place made it even better. Great for two people, really cozy feel, nice view out of the window. It was easy to find, all the necessities provided.
Lisa responded quickly to (my many!) inquiries, communicated everything clearly, and made access to the room convenient (on our schedule), which was a blessing considering we had a 2-year-old in tow. The room is attached to their home, but we had a private entrance and never actually saw the owners - it felt like our own place. We found a percolator and enjoyed tea throughout our stay. There is an awesome little book and DVD collection to look through for days you feel like staying in and looking out the window at the snow, or many trails to run nearby if you're the active type. The neighborhood was gorgeous, and very quiet. The best part? It's less than a 10 minute drive to the water. We'd absolutely stay here again. Thank you Lisa!
Lisa's place was incredibly cozy. We had everything we needed, and the price and location was just right for us! Lisa was a great communicator and was sweet enough to check in with us about our needs during snow fall. Had the most wonderful weekend in Tahoe, and thankful that we had such a kind host and cozy spot to top!
