Looking for something completely different? Maybe you want to surprise someone with an extraordinary overnight stay? The high-quality conversion of this former lifeboat into a mini houseboat offers enough space to stay overnight and relax on about 10 square meters of living space. The GORCH POTT is suitable for a holiday for two or alone. Here you can enjoy life on the water in the Diamantgraben, a short tributary of the Elbe, and explore the Hanseatic city from here.

The space
Personal words from the owners Joris and Steffen: "A second life as a tiny boat. The boat was decommissioned by the German Navy and acquired by us in 2019. By upcycling the boat and using ecological and recycled materials, the conversion is sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Based on the time in the navy and the design of the boat, it was renamed GORCH POTT. Unlike the Gorch Fock, however, the renovation did not cost 135 million euros ;)

The Tiny Boat is equipped with a small kitchenette, a double bed, a TV, a seating area and a small toilet. So everything you need for your next vacation on the GORCH POTT is available!"

Every now and then a duck swims by, which you can watch from the bed through the porthole... And in summer you can go swimming directly on site. The GORCH POTT does not have its own terrace, but it is located next to our wooden raft, and if it is not on the way, you are welcome to stay on it so that you have an outdoor area. The bed on board is 1.40 m wide at the top, but tapers slightly downwards because it adapts to the shape of the boat.

Other things to note
There is no bathroom on board, but there is a dry separation toilet on board. There is also a toilet and shower on land that you can use, about 40 m from the boat.

You have 100 liters of fresh water available on the boat. The filled water is drinking water, but since it is stored in a tank, it officially has no drinking water quality - so please bring drinking water. (There is also a tap at the jetty.) If you run out of water during your stay, we will refill it.

The grounds, the jetty and the boat are not accessible.

On the farm, across which you walk to the jetty with the boats, high-quality houseboats made of wood and according to ecological standards are built by hand. On the premises you often meet carpenters and boat-savvy people. You don't have to talk to anyone, but if you want to, a conversation will quickly arise. Sometimes construction noises can be heard. The surroundings are very green, yet it is still Hamburg; nearby is a railway bridge, which you can perceive more or less strongly depending on the wind direction. (Most people don't mind the noise.)

My work: Eco houseboat construction
I'm obsessed with: Houseboats and Sustainability
We rent houseboats and well-developed lifeboats in Hamburg. Most of our houseboats were handcrafted right here on site by ecological standards. Each (house)boat has a different owner, on whose behalf we organize the rental; and so each (house)boat is individually equipped and furnished. Choose your favorite boat for a very special stay right on the water!
