Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Litchfield County farmhouse (c.1890) with a modern studio addition and distinctive interiors that feature a number of mid-century modern furnishings. The owners are a writer and an architect who have built a truly unique home full of original art and a large book collection. The property itself is small but it is surrounded by 250 acres of farmed conservation land and a short walk will take you past some of the most scenic farms in Litchfield County.

The space
The house has three bedrooms, a large living room and kitchen, separate dining room, and a kid's playroom in the basement with a ping pong table. Best of all is a big screened-in porch with an outdoor fireplace, family-size lounge seating and a rustic table for outside dining that seats eight. This area is covered by a roof so even in rainy weather the whole family can hang out together outside. The eat-in kitchen is big and well-appointed with everything a chef could need. Outdoor propane BBQ grill is close at hand with a huge outdoor picnic table and back patio that gets lots of sun. We have tons of board games, toys, and books for you to enjoy during your stay. Unfortunately, due to some recent mishaps, pets are no longer allowed.

The sleeping arrangements are such that one family or two couples with kids can sleep comfortably; upstairs is one full bath that serves the master bedroom (king bed) and the guest room (two twins). Downstairs in the private studio wing is one bedroom (queen bed) with a full bath directly adjacent. There is also a half bath downstairs adjacent to the main living areas.

Guest access
Keyless, contactless, entry system. We email a code right before your stay.

Blazing fast WIFI with three access points so there’s no dead zones. Kid friendly areas (and toys) are separate from the main living spaces -- includes a play area in the basement.

Other things to note
Our property insurance DOES NOT cover intentional or accidental damage protection or loss of personal property for guests due to breakage, theft, vandalism, loss, weather events, etc. You should insure your trip and personal possessions with adequate travelers insurance if you feel it will be necessary.

Neighborhood highlights

Enjoy scenic walks past farms and grazing cattle, truly a special corner of Litchfield County with lots of wildlife and birds.

House is private with neighbors far away but not too secluded, views of a 100 acre cornfield to the north and a hay field to the south are beautiful in any season. Birds, rabbits, and woodchucks abound. Neighborly chickens next door.
