Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The hayloft is very old but we have converted it into a 2 bed suite (one double bed & one big round bed on the mezzanine) with a 'shed bathroom' and a large lounge. It is on top of part of our own house (above the kitchen) but has a separate private entrance and a door onto the garden. There is no kitchen facility - think hotel rooms rather than self catering! It is right in the heart of the village a couple of hundred metres from good restaurants, ancient pubs and independent shops.

The space
The space is large with high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams - it was originally a farm building - more recently a carpenters workshop. It is just under 1000sq foot. It is above the kitchen in our house but has its own entrance and is completely private with direct access to the garden. The rooms are open plan - one is at the end of a corridor and the other is the mezzanine floor of the lounge room. We have created a 'bathroom shed' to follow the contour of the roof which houses a lovely walk in shower as well as a basin and loo.

Where you’ll be

Nailsworth, United Kingdom

Nailsworth is a lovely little town with lots of independent shops, restaurants and cafes and we love living here. Great cafes are Hobbs House and The Canteen and new additions at Three Storeys (also a gallery) and the Coffee Lada which parks outside the library. You can eat amazing food in several restaurants and there is even a fine dining restaurant called Wilder. There's an independent bookshop, wholefood shop, some great charity shops, several womens' clothes shops, a mens clothes shop and lots of gift shops plus two bike shops (one where you can hire electric bikes). And a plant atelier called Junglist which is just fabulous. You can go on amazing walks from the doorstep through ancient woodland or up to the commons. And there are lots of bike riding opportunities nearby (either up the hills or a lovely sedate ride along the old railway on the cycle path that will take you into Stroud). The Stroud area is also a real hub for the arts and attracts a lot of creative people as well as people interested in natural therapies and alternative lifestyles. Only a few miles from Tetbury and Stroud, 30 minutes to Cheltenham and 45 mins to Bath or Bristol.
