Welcome to SOJA Lake House! This spacious, modern home is nestled in beautiful Pocono Mountains just two hours away from both Philly and NYC. It is perfect for couples, family or friends to gather. Located in The Hideout, a private gated 4-star community, SOJA Lake House offers guests numerous amenities, including lakes, pools, a golf course, private ski hill and more.
The house is tucked away in a quiet private cul de sac just minutes away from the beach and has been fully renovated in 2022.
The space
SOJA Lake House is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a modern aesthetic that has been fully renovated in early 2022. There was something special about this house even when it was stuck in the 80’s with an outdated décor and a lot of orange wood paneling. It took a lot of hard work to bring our vision to life, but we are in love with the result! Follow our renovation journey and updates on IG - @soja.lake.house.
The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and is set back from the road, which makes it more private and secluded. There is a big circular driveway in the front, with plenty of parking for 3-4 cars. Front stairway leads to a cozy partially covered deck with lounge chairs – perfect for relaxing outdoors. The front door has an easy keyless entry. The house has two additional decks.
One is located off the dining room and has a gas grill – very convenient for cooking a meal and bringing it right to your dining table. The third deck is in the upstairs bedroom and is great for enjoying a morning cap of coffee or doing some sun tanning in the afternoon.
With one of the hosts being a professional chef in the past, we have a full chef’s kitchen with big island that has everything you need to cook a delicious meal. From brand new quartz countertops, huge sink, a new dishwasher and new Samsung stove with a built-in air fryer to a variety of gourmet cooking books and every possible cooking gadget you may need – we have it all. The kitchen leads to a cozy dining room that’s always filled with light from 3 large windows and has a huge dining table for 8 people.
On the other side of the kitchen is a bright living room with vaulted 2 story ceiling with skylights and a working wood-burning fireplace. There is a 52-inch smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. to enjoy a movie night. We have plenty of seating with two large armchairs, a sofa and a huge bean bag. There is a variety of board games in the living room closet for the whole family to enjoy.
Off the living room, there is a master bedroom with its own bathroom and a king size bed. Up the stairs on the second floor, there is another bedroom with a king size bed and a third bedroom with two twin-size bunk beds. The beds have memory foam mattresses and premium down pillows and duvets so you can sleep like a baby. The upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub and a hand-held shower, which is great for giving a bath to little ones. The bunkbed room is stocked with kids’ books and toys and has a pack-and-play (stored in the closet) so families with little ones can pack less.
We are located in The Hideout, an amenity filled four season lake community in the Northern Poconos, just a short 2-hour drive from NYC or Philly. With lakes, pools, beaches, tennis, golf, fitness center, recreational center, ski hill with ski lift, tubing and art/pottery center, there is something for everyone to enjoy! The house is about a 10-minute walk from Roamingwood Park and Marina, where you can fish, enjoy a picnic or just go for a stroll. The main beach, pool, lodge and Tiki bar are about a 5-minute drive from the house.

There are two great towns – Hawley and Honesdale – to explore about 25 minutes away from the house. Both have many coffee shops, restaurants, antique stores, and much more. Please explore our digital guide on Airbnb for suggestions and our favorite things to do and see.
Guest access
There is a security check in at the main gate upon arrival. Once to the home, guests can easily access via digital lock code.
Guests will be given eight (8) passes to use the nearby lakes, beaches and pools and other amenities, including marina with kayak/canoe rentals, private 9-hole golf course, outdoor basketball/tennis/volleyball courts, playgrounds, ski slopes, snow tubing, hiking trails, recreation center (indoor courts, game room, gym), art museum, woodworking building, Club House restaurant and Tiki Bar.
The lake is a few minutes walk from the house. Perfect for a morning run or an evening stroll to watch the sunset.
Other things to note
Please note that The Hideout is a secured gated community. Check-in at the Southgate Visitor’s Center is required before entry to the property. You will need to fill out a rental application (including the names, ages, addresses and relationships to you for all of your guests), which will be sent to you after booking is confirmed and will need to be submitted at least 3 days prior to arrival. Driver’s license and car documents will need to be submitted for entrance into the community.
The guest badges, which allow access to amenities and free access to the pool, will be available in the house. All guest badges should be left in the house at checkout. The fee to replace missing guest badges is $50 per badge. Other amenity fees apply such as kayak rental, paddle board rental, golf fees.

For security reasons, we have one floodlight camera that oversees the driveway. We only check the camera to see if there is a car in the driveway to confirm a guests has arrived or departed. We respect your privacy during your trip.
