#06 "Cosy" Geodesic Dome & Space

Igloo - Entire home/apt · Tarifa, Andalusia 11391, Spain

The Space

A hand-built, french design, oregon pine wood, futuristic inspiration Geodesic Dome only 50 m from our main guesthouse, totalling almost a dozen different spaces that we rent out in our finch near the village of Facinas in Tarifa. Please see our other spaces if you don't think this one is for you.

Please don't worry about booking one of our individual spaces and then not being happy with it. We'll swap you around. We move people around when they realise they've made the wrong choice of sleeping space, or for example, they just want to experiment first in a tent by the lake and then settle for a comfortable bed in the Guesthouse.

Details will ONLY be provided once you've booked via this AirBnB site as per our agreement with Airbnb. As soon as the booking is confirmed, you automatically have access to all the information (name, address, phone numbers, exact location, maps, etc.)

Hidden behind trees and bushes lies the secluded space #6 our "COSY" GEODESIC DOME with lots of space around it for lazing in the sun. The "igloo" is set on a wooden platform with an adjacent deck and dinner table. Next to the risqué outside shower a huge mirror and a Moroccan style toilet. A fun experience in itself!

Unless our guesthouse is booked by a "Closed Party" (which is sometimes the case especially on weekends, you have full access to the community kitchen with inside and outside stoves in the main house, cook your favorite meals and devour them at the oval wooden table in the middle of the shaded patio. On the grill you can try out the arts of barbequing shrimps and eggplants. Gazpacho the famous, delicious mixture of cucumbers, tomatos, pepperoni, olive oil and dried bred is being prepared in the blender and kept in the fridge to refresh you in the heartwarming heat of the long summer days. Fresh fruit juices are centrifuged in the practical kitchen appliance and will guarantee a stay in Paradise, gastronomical bliss. (In case that the guesthouse kitchen is not available we have installed an additional kitchen in the office area of the estate). The hammock awaits you for your after lunch siesta. La dolce far niente par excellence. The climate is incomparable to anything in the northern hemisphere. Cool sea-breezes, coming wavelike across 6000 km of pure, cool waters of the gigantic Atlantic ocean, often bring fresh relief from the dry, hot desert wind risen over the Sahara sand which is so loved by the many windsurfers only 6 kilometres to the southwest.

A reed encircled lake born from the springs on the hilly side of our land the national park, “Los Alcornocales” , an Eden, an untouched fleck on earth.

A picture is worth a thousand words and it is left to you how to indulge into the phantasies how deep you will enjoy your leisure and enjoyment with us.

Inspired as you will feel you will heat up the pizza oven to bake your favorite cakes in it after a few hours of warm-up time. The turning grill is apt to grill the fish that you have caught in the ocean or bought in our local fish-market.

Locate us on the map and you get the idea in which ideal location we are for all the activities you can imagine during your stay with us.

  • my girlfriend and I had a great experience in the romantic dome of Buzzel. Everything was very clean, even if it was in november it wasn't cold into the dome because of the thermos and the hot blanket on the bed. It's been very pleasant to chat with the staff, the other guests of Buzzel's house, and to have a tour in that fabulous place.

  • I can only leave my biggest recommendations for this place it is simply wonderful - just as the host Buzzel :)

  • We have had one of the absolute best experiences here. It is a haven for relaxation and peace. My partner and I only planned on staying a night, but fell in love with the place and extended by three days. The attention to detail from the interior of the dome we slept in and comfort of the bed, the outdoor shower was a dream, and the main house with its views... Ideal for waking up and enjoying your morning coffee.
It has been great getting to know Buzzel. He gave is a tour of the property, and has been a very helpful host.
We will 100% be returning next year.

  • I don't think I can adequately describe how good it was to stay here. Buzzel's wonderful property outside Tarifa/Facinas was a perfect retreat midway through our 6 weeks of travelling. It has such a sense of peace and presence, it's something you can't put a price on. The fellow travellers we met helped make a great journey even better.
The dome itself is a great design, and falling asleep so close to the outside world with the gentle sound of cowbells in the distance is something I'll always remember. Thank you Buzzel for creating such a great space.

  • The accommodation is located in the middle of nature and is very unique and clean, we loved it. Buzzel was very kind and gave us all the information we needed to feel comfortable and have a good time. We sure want to come back one day!

  • Absolute dream holiday!

The Dome is probably the coziest bed I hve ever been in and the ambience in and around the house is spectacular - especially the view. My personal favorite: the out door shower. There is nothing better than taking that morning shower in combination with a few gusts of wind to wake you up. Speaking of waking up: at 8 in the morning you will hear cowbells in the distance - and donkeys doing their thing. The perfect combination of nature and luxury :)

I had a great time talking to Buzzel and having those few glasses of wine as the evenings developed. Thanks so much for this great place.

  • It was a really great experience to stay at "el banos", especially the "dom". The lovely couple who takes care of the main house and the surroundings was helpful and courteous. Basics of Spanish might be helpful, but my Spanish is really bad and it worked out anyway:)
you can enjoy nice views of the area around in the evening, especially by showering in the open air bathroom.
There is an additional standard toilet around, you can use the kitchen and sit in the lovely patio while eating.
i had the best tomatoes in my live here.
    i would really recommend it!!

  • Buzzel and his partner are wonderful hosts, who proved to be both interesting and hospitable. I stayed in the Geodesic dome, which was very comfortable. The location is beautiful and perfect for anybody looking to relax and enjoy some beautiful scenery in a tranquil atmosphere.
Chatting with Buzzel and his partner was a truly enriching experience. I'd totally recommend this as a place to stay.
The only word of caution I have, is to make sure you have a car or a bike, as this place is a bit out of the way. But this makes it all the more charming as it is peaceful and quiet!!!

The Airbnb profile page does not give him a choice. There is only one possibility: (“Hi, I am Buzzel”) Let's try it a little differently: "Hello", "THEY CALL ME BUZZEL" Buzzel is beyond description... When I tried to describe myself how I feel inside, few people booked rooms, but then I found out that it was wintertime when not many guests come here anyway, so I put the old description back in After all these years, Buzzel still does not know, who he is. The eternal questions remain: To be, or not to be? Who am I? It has been proven to him, that even this “I” he is referring to, cannot be found anywhere. God is nowhere! . . . or, God is now here?! Is there a Real “I”? Buzzel has looked in a lot of places. ¿What if it cannot be found in a place? What if it has been here all along? He still does not know, who he is, but at least he has found out, what he is not. Even in almost seventy years he has not found out. Am I, am I not? Am I God, am I part of God? Is God in me? Am I a manifestation of God? Am I a manifestation of the devil? Or am I both at the same time, interwoven and overlapping? Since there is no findable “I”, what exactly is he referring to, when he says “I”? The divine comedy? The dance of existence? Questions, questions and very few clear answers. He knows that he does not know. He lives in the certainty, that the conscience does not solve the problems. What about moral? Keine Materie, kein Bestand. It is even certain, that all these insights grew on his own heap of manure. Yes, he has found God, but not the God they tried to sell to him. No, the real one, the one that does not exist in the sense in which most of us have created him or her. To live with this mystery, to flower in it without limits. With the strength of conscious immortability. There is no Buzzel, there is nothing, on what he could hang onto. Yes, or maybe not! To live in the Mystery, crazy, no “baaing” herd animal. Hi, they call me Buzzel, but I don’t have a clue who this is. Born: Yes, along time ago. Died: Not quite yet. Living in the mystery, avoiding the herd. Buzzel has journeyed and stayed in many places and spaces throughout time. Come and stay with him for a while, where horses and cows, donkeys, foxes and rabbits are still roaming around freely in the meadows and hills and where you don’t have to lock the doors of your car, the house or your heart. You will most likely enjoy living in our space and share our way and view of life. Come and share your peace of mind or find it here with us, fellow traveler, for a brief moment. ¡Be my guest! Buzzel is not just trying to sell you the use of a bed for a night or two for a certain number of €uros, £ounds or $ollars, he is offering you an experience of the place and the space, something you can take with you and where you can return to anytime. Come here and feel for yourself. Please read what our visitors write about their experience and please be my guest.
