Tucked into the best location in Palm Springs is the historic Royal Hawaiian Estates. Designed by the architecture firm of Wexler & Harrison in 1960, the complex blends the modernist aesthetic with Polynesian architectural detailing (including “tiki apexes” and “flying sevens”). This spacious 2 bedroom/2 bath condo brings a mid-century Polynesian vibe into the modern world. You'll love all the modern updates and clutter free touches in this comfortable condo that lives like a home.

The space
These condos are spacious and have a great layout providing for a home like feel. The wall of windows that lines the living/dining/kitchen area looks out over your private patio which is elevated above the lushly landscaped pool. The units make a square surrounding the pool in the center which serves as the focal point. There are several pods of units in the complex. There are two pools and the HOA takes turns heating the pools over the winter, heating the west pool one year and the east pool the next, so there is always one heated pool to use each year.

The grounds are lush and beautiful and immaculately kept. This unit is nicely updated with many modern features while maintaining all of its original charm. The attention to detail is evident and the love and care that the owners have for their home shows. They have carefully chosen the furnishings and the appointments to provide for a comfortable and thoughtful experience while showing appreciation for the architecture and the theme of the community.

This property has been featured on Modernism Week tours and often attracts those interested in historic properties, but it does not have an antique or stuffy feel when staying here. It is quite comfortable and modern.

You'll find a primary bedroom with a Queen bed and an ensuite bath. The stack washer and dryer are in the ensuite and there is plenty of closet space! This bedroom looks out upon the patio and pool. The bathroom has a step-down shower (a quirk of the period architecture).

The second bedroom is across the hall with a Queen bed and looks out toward the front door courtyard. The bedroom has a desk and a closet.

The second bath is in the hall and has a step-down shower as well.

The large, open concept living/dining area has a wall of windows (sliders) overlooking the patio and pool with a flat screen TV, plenty of comfortable seating and dining for 6.

The large kitchen has ample cabinetry and counter space. This is truly a cooks kitchen! You'll find everything you will need to cook meals while you are here. There is a large professional grade refrigerator and a second refrigerator/freezer available. At the end of the kitchen is a breakfast bar/wet bar with counter seating and a sink. This is perfect as a cocktail prep area!

There is one covered and reserved parking space for the unit. Additional off street parking (uncovered and un-reserved) is available for up to 2 cars per unit.

Other things to note
This is a pet-free and smoke free property. No music (amplification) is allowed out doors on the patio or at the pool at anytime (24 hours per day).

This is an all inclusive rental with all utilities included except for pool heat. This condo is outfitted with high speed Internet/wi-fi. There is a $250 cap on electric use. Over this amount is deducted from your deposit. A $250 utility deposit is required upon lease signing.

A mid-stay cleaning is required and at an additional fee of $200 at the renters expense. We will schedule this cleaning at the time of arrival to be a convenient time for the renter.
