Our 6-acre waterfront getaway surrounds a secluded private cove with 1,000 feet of Chesapeake Bay waterfront and a fresh water pond. The 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom home comes with complementary kayaks, canoe, standup paddle board and sports equipment. Property also features fire pit, fitness trail w/ yoga space, sunrise dock, swimming, hot tub, kids treehouse, volleyball, movie theater, fenced in yard & more.
The space
Our home features six bedrooms with brand new beds and mattresses. The master bedroom is located off of the living room on the main level and features a king-size bed, closet, smart TV and master bathroom with jacuzzi tub and large shower. Two more bedrooms are located on the opposite end of the main level, each featuring a queen bed, closet and smart TV's plus an additional full bathroom off of those two bedrooms. There are two more bedrooms downstairs, one featuring a king bed, closet and smart TV and the other featuring three adjacent sets of bunkbeds which sleep a total of 6. The downstairs bedrooms share another full bathroom located on the same level.
The living room is flanked on one side with full bay-facing windows and features a large comfy couch and sitting chairs facing the fireplace and 70" smart TV. Nearby the dining room features our large dining table with seating for up to 10. The nearby sunroom features three walls of windows facing the bay and backyard along with a gas fireplace, comfy couch, sitting chairs and a 4-person card table.
Downstairs is another living room area with a large couch and multiple comfy chairs. This area also features a small kitchen area just inside the sliding door to the backyard that is great for kids or daytime snacks on the lower porch. The basement room also converts into a movie theater which can seat up to 10 people on couches and bean bags.
The outside area is sprawling with both upper and lower decks designed for entertaining. The upper deck features a large dining table that seats six along with multiple other areas with new outdoor furniture. The lower level features more outside furniture along with an 8-person picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. The large hot tub sits off of the lower deck area just steps from the fire pit.
A short walk down to the water brings you to two docks that can be used for fishing, watching the sunrise or entering the water on the kayaks, canoes and/or stand up paddle boards. We also have a fishing station complete with rod holders and fish cleaning platform.
Kick back and enjoy nature whether you are fishing, crabbing or just looking for some of the miraculous birds that frequent the air (including bald eagles!). Our 6-acre lot features over 1,000 feet of waterfront which is remarkably secluded and serene. Take a morning walk along the waterfront walking path and stop to enjoy the views on one of our bay benches.
Guest access
We will send access information for the house the before your arrival. The front door will be accessed with a customized 8-digit code and all details will be provide then including Wifi passwords, etc. The entire house is centrally heated and cooled, and we have fresh, delicious well water.
Other things to note
Please note that during the summer months (June through August) we only allow for full week rentals checking in on Saturday only.
We are located in the magical, historic town of Onancock, Virginia. This historic port town was founded in 1680 and full of fabulous amenities to enjoy. Onancock is a year-round community with a thriving art scene including multiple galleries open daily and frequent art shows. The extremely walkable downtown is great for afternoon strolls and shopping. There are several excellent restaurants and boutiques, a farmers market, play house and historic movie theater that plays new releases! There is also a beautiful marina where you can dock your boat or hop a ferry to Tangier Island (one of the areas coolest attractions and definitely worth a day trip). Just outside of town you'll find everything you need from big box shopping to some of Virginia's best independent seafood restaurants and markets.
Looking for a beach day? There are a variety of beaches located nearby including Cape Charles, Chincotegue, Silver Beach and, our favorite, Savage Neck Dunes. We also recommend the ferry to Tangier Island for an epic beach day experience :)
