Bed and Breakfast "Leonardo da Vinci" is a receptive family accommodation in Florence, near to Accademia Museum and Piazza San Marco. Our neighborhood is around Piazza Savonarola, a nineteen - first twentieth century establishment; our building was built around 1880 and it has his ancient furniture. In our family we have always attached importance to the eating, and so with the room, you'll have a real rich breakfast, with coffee, milk, tea, orange squash, yoghurt, fresh fruits, jam, bread, brioches, eggs... On guest demand, we can also prepare a tuscan dinner, with recipes that are in the family tradition since ever, as our family cames from a village in Florence countryside (they were farmers); some dishes are bread soup (zuppa di pane), liver small crust (crostini di fegatini), Roast "dead" rabbit (coniglio arrosto morto), tomato soup (pappa al pomodoro). On request I can give some cooking lessons, with choice of the menu. Each lesson includes three recipes. Dinner price euro 35 per person; dinner with cooking lesson euro 50 per person. During dinner, Tuscan wine is included. This double room "white bedroom" (camera bianca), has a large bed and a shared bathroom, with towels, bathrobe, hair-dryer and toilet soap. Tv and free wifi are available. We can help you to book Uffizi and other museums, and also to suggest itineraries and things to do in Florence and surroundings.
Price includes all taxes, City of Florence tourism tax too.
Please notice that the room is a double room and it can accomodate only two persons; we can't accept extra people inside.
The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. It was the perfect hideaway that was close enough to everything but far enough to be in a "REAL" Florence neighborhood. The Ulivieri family were wonderful hosts and responsive to my requests. I enjoyed Carla's wonderfully prepared breakfasts. Simple yet very tasty. I would recommend this home highly.
Carla has obviously been an amazing hostess her whole life - she greeted us with a huge smile and welcomed us into the flat with cold water on a very hot day! Breakfast was wonderful (and we got to choose the time, which was great), the room was exactly as shown, and the bathroom sharing was no problem. Check out was easy as she allowed us to leave our backpacks at the apartment and pick them up before our train.
Just for your information: the walk from Santa Maria Novella train station took about 20 minutes with backpacks and the walk into Firenze city center is about 15 (and only about 5 minutes to the Accademia).
Me and my husband stayed here for one night in June 14. The room is quite spacious and clean and quite near to the Florence center. Carla is a lovely host and gave us the precise directions from the railway station. The breakfast was awesome (boiled eggs, fruits, croissant etc.). Would love to stay again and definitely recommend.
Carla was very welcoming and friendly. The B&B was easy to find in a central location. Carla gave us directions that were easy to follow. All in all a very Italian experience.
Carla and Alberto were amazing hosts, I cannot recommend them more. They are the sweetest people ever, and I had a fantastic AirBnB experience. First, Alberto handed me and my friend a map of Florence that we could use. And he answered all of our questions regarding where to go, how to get there, and etc. When I asked him for information on speciality/artisan shops, he let us know where to go and which websites to look at for the historic Florentine shops.
And Carla is such a sweet person! She cooked us breakfast in the morning, which was very delicious. I wish I could've stayed longer to chat with her, but we had to leave early for our schedule. She is so generous and kind. If/When I do come back to Florence, I will definitely try to come back to Carla's!
Carla was nothing short of welcoming. Her warm demeanor was just the thing we needed durin our stay. Niether of us had been to Italy before and she happily walked us through on the major locations. The b&b is only a 15 minute walk from the duomo and was easy to navigate to. Each morning she made us breakfast, which was heavenly. Fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, pastries and fruits. If you want an amazing stay in Firenze.. The DiVinci B&B is it!
I reserved Carla's B&B for my son and his friend who are college students. Carla's place was their first B&B experience. Here's what my son and his friend's review: "Carla's place was very good and clean. Her family was really nice and helpful. They answered all our questions and even made calls to places for us. They were very knowledgeable about the town. The breakfast was delicious. We definitely recommend her place to others". I'd like to add that even before my son and his friend left for Italy, when Carla and his son, Alberto, got to know that my son and his friend are going to a castle which is pretty hard to get to. Carla and Alberto started making calls in helping them find a better transportation route to get to the castle and sure enough, my son and his friend followed their suggestions and got to the castle with no problem. Thank you so much, Carla and Alberto.
Carla, my host, was amazing super sweet and informative. I stayed in this room one night and had stayed in the room with the private bath a few nights before. I preferred this room because of the good light from the outside.
This accommodation is in a person's home so you are sharing this home with a family. Carla and her family were very sweet and accommodating! It was a super treat to wake up to a wonderful breakfast! Our first night we arrived very late and Carla's son greeted us and gave us all the information we needed about the room etc. He warned us about the mosquitos in Florence, which I experienced both nights we stayed here (as I love to have the window open all the time). We slept great and the first night we had the room with a private bathroom. The second time I stayed, a few days later, I had the room with the shared bathroom. Both rooms were very clean and the sheets were fresh. I had a very early flight in the morning and Carla made a reservation for the taxi for 4:30 am. The taxi was right on time. Carla's home is centrally located with about a 10 to 15 minute walk into the heart of Florence. Carla gave me some good recommendations for dinner and all the information I needed to navigate Florence.
The place was amazing and Carla was an outstanding host. In a quiet part of town that is very much walkable from the main activity. Again, Carla was outstanding. Breakfast was great, the B&B was clean, had character and felt like home instantly. Highly recommended.
