Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Retreat here on my 6 acres of madrone forest with pastoral views, 2 meditation labyrinths- yet only 3 miles to the quaint, historic town of Jacksonville, Oregon, home of Britt Festival, 35 minutes to Ashland and 1.5 hours to Mt. Shasta or Crater Lake. This guest suite in the lower level of my house. Walk the spiral labyrinths. Book a Sacred Sound bath session with Tibetan and crystal bowls & Paiste gongs for $70 during your stay. Massage chair available too. Simply divine!

The space
This comfortably furnished, private entry guest suite with huge windows and its own driveway, resides in the lower level of my house on a hill. It consists of one bedroom, one bath and a Great Room area with Kitchenette which includes an induction hotplate, coffee maker, French press, toaster oven, hot water kettle, microwave and a compact 4.5 cu. ft. refrigerator with cookware basics for meal preparation, see photos. This suite also features a daybed in the Great Room to sleep another person. To further enjoy the views, experience lounging on the huge private covered porch while barbecuing on a George Foreman grill. This is a special quiet sanctuary place where deer, turkey and birds abound. You can stay here, get away from it all, recuperate, de-stress and discover your true self among the nature trails and find your own peaceful meditation spot. Gaze at the zillions of stars at night. A full moon night is extraordinary. Commune with nature. De-stress in the massage chair, release what no longer serves you and melt into bliss with a sound healing session, or just unwind on the porch, read and sip a beverage. It is a smoke free environment with easily operable windows, no chemical cleansers or air fresheners used and some organic cotton sheets on beds. A Hepa air purifier comes in the unit along with an essential oil diffuser with lavender oil. There is a comfy queen size bed with memory foam topper in the large bedroom and a twin size day bed in the Great Room area accommodating a maximum of 3 people in the suite. Black out curtains are on all the windows if you like sleeping in. The elevation here is 2,200 feet it is several degrees cooler in the summer and it's above the fog that lies in the valley in the winter. The town of Jacksonville still lies in the fog belt 3 miles down the hill. It's sunnier up here in winter. Many hiking trail options nearby and minutes from Woodrat mountain. The large covered porch is shaded and cool most of the time. And an electric grill is there to use all year round. It's like Ireland in winter (wet season) and South of France in summer. Appropriately nicknamed “Little Napa”. Gorgeous all year. There is a central air heat pump with air conditioning for summer, supplemental electric wall heater for this suite and an air purifier for occasional smokey days in fire season. Find peace and rejuvenation here at the sanctuary.

Guest access
6 acres to walk through on deer trails along with 2 meditation labyrinths to explore. Don't miss the park bench at the crest of the hill. What a view!
There is a hammock by request near the garden area to nap or gaze at stars at night.
Massage chair use is complimentary and is outside of the sound studio in the garage. Just ask.
During your stay experience the nurturing, healing sounds of Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and gongs in Claudia's professional recording studio on site. As Airbnb guests you get at a discounted price of $70 for an hour session for one person- $80 for two people. The ultimate is using the massage chair followed by a sound meditation. Then a short walk back to your private quarters. Pure bliss!
The Laundry Room is available for occasional guest use accessed through the garage. The fenced garden is private for the owner as is the main house although you may pick herbs such as oregano, thyme and rosemary year round by the front of the house to enjoy in meals.
You are welcome to walk the property just be causcious as there is poison oak in some of the forested areas so be careful. It's common in wooded areas in this region. None near the apartment. There is a fire pit in the back of the garage by the garden that guests can use 6 months of the year when there is no fire danger outside the declared fire season. Ask Claudia first as it is a shared space. AT&T cellphone service is good here while other cell services may be spotty to none. The internet service is great and you can connect to WiFi for phone service too. No cable TV or tv channels- just Netflix and streaming stations on a small Apple TV.

Other things to note
This is a rural setting 3 miles from town. The cell phone service is spotty at times since it is rural. AT&T has the best service here. But the internet service is strong and you can communicate via that.
There is a steep, but paved, driveway to reach the house since the house sits on a hill. Please note that it can be slick when snowing.
There is a motion sensor floodlight/ security cam mounted on the outside of the house near the guest suite entrance for illumination and security reasons when owner is away. And a camera by the hot tub/ garden area. Please note that the hot tub is no longer available for Airbnb guests.

Additional services available:
Sound healing sessions with Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and gongs available in a professional sound studio on premises for a discounted price of $70 for one or $10 for each additional person.

Note: My cat is indoor/outdoor and is sometimes upstairs with me and does not enter the guest suite. The suite is pet hair free, equipped with a Hepa air purifier for allergy sensitive people along with fragrance free cotton sheets and plant based cleaning products used.
The Laundry Room is located off of the garage and shared with the host. You are welcome to use it but please schedule the usage with the host for access through the garage. No smoking permitted indoors. You may smoke on the porch with doors and windows shut. Thank you!

Neighborhood highlights

My place rural only 3 miles from the adorable town of Jacksonville which hosts the famous Britt Festival in the summer and has several nice restaurants and shops. It's just down the hill as I say. There is some occasional traffic noise from Sterling Creek Road throughout the day but mostly quiet at night unless my neighbor kids have an occasional party. Ashland is a drive 35 minutes from here to great restaurants, shopping, Lithia Park and to see a Shakespeare Festival play. The Applegate Valley (Little Napa) starts just down the road heading away from Jacksonville with dozens of well known vineyards. Crater Lake and Mt. Shasta are only 1- 1/2 hour drives away, and the Redwood forests and the coast are 3 hours away. For hiking the East Applegate Ridge trail is just 3 miles from the house and has amazing views. A perfect place to stop on your way up or down I-5 and retreat for a night or two.
