Our country home in the Garden of Ireland feels like the perfect retreat. Sit back in the garden, go for walks in the woods or simply relax by the fire. Quick & easy access to Dublin, the Wicklow mountains & the sea.
Our house is in the very centre of Newtownmountkennedy, a small village nestled in between the Irish sea and the Wicklow mountains. With quick and easy access to Dublin via the N11 and frequent fast buses, Newtownmountkennedy is the perfect distance to travel in and out of Dublin. We are 5 minutes drive to the sea and 10 minutes drive west to the Wicklow mountains. It is a great area for cycling and walking.

The 2 rooms for rent have a bathroom next to them which has a shower, washbasin and toilet. We provide clean, fresh sheets and towels. You are welcome to use our big country kitchen, sitting room and 2 bathrooms. There is access to a PC wireless internet, fax and printer. There are two gardens you can use. We have a warm wooden-floored multi-use space that you can use for yoga or other exercises.
I live here with my husband and our daughter. We have 4 other children who live away from home but who visit. We have a lovely, gentle dog and a cat. They mainly stay outside. My husband is the local GP in the village and I work part-time as a teacher in the local primary school.
The house is close to Dunnes supermarket, pharmacy and bookshop. There is a hotel across the road from the house which has a restaurant and also good bar food. There are chinese & indian takeaways within 50 meters. There are also two pubs in the village, one which serves good food.
This area is great for hiking and cycling and there are some beautiful places to visit not too far away one of them being Glendalough which is nestled in the Wicklow mountains. A monastic settlement, it has a beauty of its own with two lakes surrounded by forests and mountains.
We provide private parking for guests. Newtownmountkennedy is 35k south of Dublin. Our house is in the middle of the village, 20 metres away from the bus stop. The 133 Bus Eireann takes you directly into Dublin city centre every hour. The Dublin Bus No.184 connects the village to Greystones & Bray every 30mins.
We would prefer that the guests don't smoke indoors.
Annick and Craig are absolutely lovely. They made me feel so welcome in their home. It was the perfect way to end my time in Ireland. I couldn't have asked for better hosts. They really know the area and were full of great recommendations. They also have this lovely journal in the guest room where you can leave your experiences and read others to get ideas of what to do in the area. Annick is a great baker and had lots of homemade treats to share as well. I can not say enough good things about the Bishop house.
We spent sunny days in Newtownmountkennedy. The "Corner House" is a suitable place to visit all sights of Wicklow County. Thank you, Annick and Craig, for being so lovely and hearty hosts. We really appreciated the daily prepared delicious breakfast in your cosy kitchen. Thanks for your friendly support in finding the right bus routes, walking trails and restaurants. This all made us feel good and comfortable. All the best, Wolfgang and Gabriela :)
Annick and Craig went above and beyond what I expected of them during my 5 day stay at their beautiful home. I really appreciated their welcoming nature and their help planning excursions for my time in Ireland. The Corner House is in a perfect location, opposite a supermarket, pharmacy etc and literally right ontop of a bus route which connects to the airport, city centre and lots of other nearby towns, which is so handy if you are not renting a car. I enjoyed every second of my stay with them and I will definitely come back to Ireland again in the future. Keep up the great work Annick - you are a wonderful host! :)
Annick and Craig made me feel very welcome. I had a rough day beforehand and I felt very cared for by both of them. I would be very happy to return to the Corner House.
We were at Annick and Craig house. It was like a dream, they made feel us home it was like we were part of the family. The location is perfect, the house peaceful. We highly recommend this place.
I had a lovely 1 night stay with Anwick and her family. They could not have been more hospitable and helpful. My room was cozy and I was even provided with a hot water bottle as it was a chilly night! They also helped me to find a suitable place to walk the following day and printed out maps to help me. The walk was perfect so thank you for that! I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are looking for a home away from home.
