About This Listing
A cosy and comfortable apartment situated in a well serviced historical quarter of Florence with access to it own garden space, in which you can relax and enjoy a quiet moment.
A renovated apartment situated in the artisan quarters of Florence, an off beat tourist area, just a leisurely 15 min walk from the all the major historical sites and the train station, en route to which you'll experience the day to day life of the locals. The apartment is at ground level with it's own independent access allowing you to come and go as you please. It also has its own fully equipped kitchen in which you can prepare your own meals or snacks to be eaten in the secret little garden or where you can just chill after a hard day touring the sites. The bedroom is furnished with a unique antique Dutch brass double sized (140x195 cm) bed which will provide you with a cozy good night's sleep.
The area surrounding the apartment is littered with things to do culturally, for leisure and for entertainment. Within a stone throw of the apartments location there are two major squares bubbling with culinary opportunities, café's and bars which are open until late if you're into it a bit of local night life. Should you prefer a quiet night in, just down the road from us there are fruit and vegetable stores and mini markets from which you'll be able choose to your hearts content. A few paces away from the front door you will also find a café, for an espresso local style, a Bakery, Launderette, Hair dresser, ready to cater for your immediate needs.
The whole apartment and the back garden dedicated to it.
Interaction with Guests
I am available at all times, especially if you need help. I'll come over to say hello if you're in the garden otherwise I'll respect your privacy.
This neighborhood within the historic area of Florence is still populated with locals and artisans. It offers a unique insight to local life with it's many coffee bars and markets in which to have an espresso and mix with the locals. A safe area also by night as there is quite an active night life with some of the best bars and restaurants in Florence.
The neighborhood is well connected with buses that will take you into town and out, but the distances are so short that it's hardly worth it. Everything of interest is within comfortable walking distance. Besides you will want to take the walk as you get the see the local life as you head towards the historical sites.
The only thing that really matters is the respect towards the neighbours which live above. There is, by law, a 11.30 pm time limit after which no loud disturbing noise are allowed. So in a nut shell please respect this especially if you're chilling in the garden late at night. Thanks
Read the other reviews: They are all true and accurate, but still don't grasp the experience of staying in Gianpaolo's Place to Stay.
It is not only about having a very comfortable place to stay, enjoying the lovely garden or getting helpful information about what to see, where to dine, what to wine etc.
Staying in Gianpaolo's A Place to Stay is a gift, the jewel on the crown of our holiday in Italy.
Mile Grazie !
We had a great time at Gianpaolo's place! The location is very good, close to a cosy square where we ate amazing pasta at the restaurant Tamero. Gianpaolo welcomed us very warmly and provided everything we needed for breaktfast - amazing! The jam was really good! :) And the garden was beautiful. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Florence.
Our stay here was amazing. The host, Gianpaolo was very warm and had various suggestions for us which turned out to be amazing. He lives right next door and was always there if we needed any help. At the same time we had complete privacy. We got to meet his beautiful mother Elena as well while I was asking Gianpaolo about transport options and they really sorted it out for us. Gianpaolo speaks perfect english so communication was never a problem. He had stocked the kitchen with fruits, milk, bread and cereal etc.
Gianpaolo was an incredible host and the apartment was great. We could not have asked for a better setting for our stay in Florence. The apartment and garden were wonderful and the location made walking trips very convenient. Gianpaolo also gave us some great recommendations.
From the moment we shook hands we felt welcome at Gianpaolo's beautiful and cozy apartment. Very thorough in his explanations about where to eat which was helpful. The fruit basket was a lovely touch. The place was spotless and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Florence. Thank you Gianpaolo.
We could not be more pleased with our first Airbnb experience. Gianpaolo was really quick in answering our questions online before the trip. The appartment is well situated with a nice garden and had all the necessary amenities for a couple. The host provided us with maps and great suggestions for our short stay. The wifi also worked great. We were happy we chose to stay in that area as there were less tourists and more locals, still only a short walk to all attractions.
Gianpaolo was a wonderful host....now friend. Apartment exceeded our expectations. His mother is a delight and (with Gianpaolo) a gifted gardener. Wish we had more time to enjoy our hosts' company and garden. Gianpaulo thought of everything for our late night snacks and breakfast.WWe were sorry to leave.
About the Host, Gianpaolo
As someone who has lived abroad and consequently travelled, I understand the need of a good place to stay. Somewhere that will make you feel at home as much as possible. I hope that our guests will feel this way after having spending time with us.
