Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Our peaceful farm is located between Newport and Narragansett with easy access to the amazing beaches of Southern Rhode Island! Come enjoy the beautiful little guest suite in our historic barn. Beach chairs, boogie boards and bikes provided!

The space
Escape to our Private Guest Suite located in the historic barn on our charming gentleman's farm along the picturesque Rhode Island coast. This cozy and clean suite offers the perfect peaceful retreat for your getaway.

Centrally located, we are just a 15-minute drive to Newport, 10 minutes to Narragansett, 10 minutes to Wickford, and 20 minutes to the ferry that takes you to Block Island. If you're planning a trip to Martha's Vineyard, the Quonset Ferry is just 15 minutes away (available May through October).

The suite consists of a small sitting room, a cozy bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a private bath. Please note that this listing is not suitable for children. The bathroom is equipped with a shower stall, and while there are no kitchen facilities, we provide a small refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, and coffee pot. Don't worry about packing beach towels, as we have those covered along with bath towels and fresh linens. We also provide 2 beach chairs and 2 boogie boards. If you need to borrow a cooler or bike, just let us know!

The barn, built in 1941 during WWII, was originally designed to be a "model farm" to help alleviate food shortages during the war. Today, it houses four horses at one end and a guest suite at the other end, which has a private entrance. While you may hear the horses moving around at night, they are usually outside the barn in their paddocks and tend to be quiet. Across a large yard from our house, you can park next to the barn and enjoy your privacy. Although we have a dog, cat, rabbit, and chickens on the property, pets are not allowed, and we kindly request that there be no smoking.

We are conveniently located within walking distance of a public bus stop, and for those traveling by train, the Kingston (AMTRAK) or Wickford (MBTA) stations are just a 15-minute drive away. If we are available, we are more than happy to pick you up from the train or airport.

Lastly, we would like to invite you to the weekly Farmer's Market just up the road, where you can explore and experience local produce and products. If you enjoy the peaceful serenity of farms, we are sure you will love our spot!

Guest access
Our guests are welcome to explore our farm property but should not be entering any other buildings when not accompanied by us.

Other things to note
We have just added beach towels, 2 beach chairs and 2 boogie boards for our guests. Enjoy!

Neighborhood highlights

A short stroll down the dirt lane will take you into historic Saunderstown Village on the shores of Narragansett Bay. Saunderstown was originally home to the ferry (before the Jamestown Bridge was built in 1940) which took folks across to Jamestown. Those heading to Newport would then continue across Jamestown and board a ferry to Newport.

My husband and I live on a small family farm along the coast of Rhode Island where we raised our children. We are an active couple that enjoys spending our free time horseback riding, sailing, road biking, mountain biking, surfing, skiing, and hiking. We also have a passion for renovating old houses! We love living the combination of farm life and beach life.
