The space
Blue Hill Farm is just 20 minutes west of Dulles Airport but it feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of DC and suburban Northern Virginia. We are within easy walking distance of the charming historic village of Waterford, situated high on a hill with a 360 degree view of rolling hills, pastoral scenes with a backdrop of Sugarloaf and the Blue Ridge Mountains. We get beautiful breezes up here. We have pretty gardens, plenty of fields to walk around, a relaxing pool, 3 porches for coffee, wine or just rocking and 2 gazebos -perfect for weddings or just unwinding. We have 2 friendly dogs, 1 fairly aloof cat and a handful of chickens that have their own house. Blue Hill Farm is a lovely rustic, but elegant, wedding venue - and a perfect "something blue" with blueberries, blue birds, blue eggs (from our Cream Legbar chickens) blue hydrangeas that bloom all summer, a blue tractor and a blue pickup truck.

We also host weddings on our property. It's ready-made with 2 gazebos and the lovely landscape backdrop. We can accommodate a wedding of 2 or 200. Our brand-new carriage house can fit up to 140. For larger weddings we have several perfect spots for a beautiful large tent.

We have one guest room on the main level with a luxury bathroom, separate shower and claw foot tub with full laundry. 2 guest rooms upstairs share a similar luxury bath with separate shower and claw foot tub. Both areas are perfect for overnight guests or a "get-ready" room for a bride and her attendants.

Neighborhood highlights

This is a country neighborhood with great views. We have neighbors but they are just the right distance away. We are just outside the charming, historic village of Waterford. We're a short drive to Leesburg, Purcellville, Bluemont and Lucketts Virginia. We're less than a half hour to Berryville, Middleburg, The Plains, Winchester Va, Harpers Ferry W.Va. and Frederick Md. There are numerous vineyards, craft breweries, great restaurants, bakery and coffee shops for those looking to escape to some good country living. For outdoor adventurers, Loudoun County is a mecca for nature lovers with the Appalachian Trail and the Potomac River less than 20 minutes away in either direction for biking, hiking, backpacking, picnicking, canoeing and kayaking. For those looking to shop there are quaint antique shops everywhere and the Leesburg outlet mall and Dulles Town Center within minutes. There are plenty of venues offering live entertainment that spans the spectrum of musical tastes. There are big seasonal events including the Apple Blossom Festival, the historic Waterford Fair and many horses shows including the Upperville and Middleburg Classics and the Gold Cup Races.

We are a couple that met in college, fell in love, got married and are blessed with two beautiful daughters. We love nature, beautiful views whether scenic and pastoral or anywhere near the water, working outside on our property and our three sweet, wonderful dogs and two cats. We also have two horses but they currently live in Richmond with our girls. We love to meet new people and have them experience the beauty that we live with each and every day but never take for granted. We enjoy getting to know our guests and appreciate the richness that they bring to our lives by staying with us.
