Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Built in the 1940s, Cabin 2 has been modestly updated but maintains a rustic, rough-around-the-edges feel. There are some eccentricities, such as the cabin bedrooms have curtain closures. It has all the essentials for an extended stay. It is cozy, clean and functional providing a nice, quiet base for relaxing and enjoying the local beauty.

The space
Our simple cabins are quiet, comfortable, and clean. They are a good value for the space and amenities provided. Our 2 bedroom cabins are ideal for 4 or less people. Each cabin has a deck with table, chairs, and barbeque.

Guest access
Local, state, and national parks are within a 5-20 minute drive. The town of Trinidad has several shops, restaurants, grocery store, gas station, playground, hiking, and great views of Trinidad harbor. Because of our rural setting cell phone access is patchy depending on your service provider. On our property Verizon / CDMA phones seem to have good coverage, whereas ATT / GSM phones do not.

Other things to note
PLEASE READ: The bedroom doorways of Cabin #2 are open with curtain closures, and are facing one another, which doesn't give much privacy between the bedrooms. Also, with regard to privacy, the bathroom door does not have a lock. Also, the cabin is located on a larger property that is home to one large residence, many outbuildings, and an RV park. During the summer months the cabin is surrounded by RVs. Despite the proximity of the RVs, the cabin still offers a quiet place as our customers are usually very respectful and quiet. Some of our RV guests have pets, which are required to be on a leash and cleaned up after.
We also have laundry facilities in a separate building for a small fee.

Neighborhood highlights

We are situated on one of the most naturally beautiful drives on the west coast. Our specific location, however, is modest with views of second growth redwood and spruce, the surrounding property, RV park, outbuildings, neighbors, and the road. It is quiet with exception of intermittent traffic noise from the road.

We are a small family owned lodge with cabins and RV sites. We have been blessed to have the business in the family for 50 years. Located near Trinidad, we are a short drive, bike ride, or walk from rivers, beaches, and national and state parks. Our business caters to fisherman in the summer months, and to other vacationers year-round. Sylvan Harbor offers a clean, sunny, and relaxing setting for a base from which to experience all the surrounding natural beauty of the Redwood Coast.
