I loved everything about my stay with Eryk and his lovely team.
Upon arrival, there was a cute sign on the door with my name - and I received a very warm welcome from everyone - including something to eat and drink. The room is beautiful and unique and the house is in the old part of Arles - which is most beautiful. In the evenings, I was offered to eat with Eryk and everyone - which was great - especially since I travelled alone.
If you plan to go to Arles this is the place to stay!
Eryk is probably my favorite AirBnB host among all those that I've stayed with. He is extremely hospitable, warm and gracious, and funny.
As for Eryk's house, it is comfortable and feels very home-y (don't expect a modern hotel feel by any means). It has a lot of charm, and Eryk's presence in the house makes it even better-- he is a professional chef and would sometimes whip things up in the kitchen and offer you a meal or snack to share. Coffee and tea is always offered.
I also enjoyed the fireplace in the house, it was great to just chill there while chatting with Eryk, and some of the other guests.
Arles is a great alternative city to stay in Provence, if you want to be a little removed from the more heavily populated Avignon, Marseille or Aix.
I would recommend Eryk's place to anyone who wants to experience Provence and have a calm, relaxing and go-with-the-flow vacation.
I had an amazing stay at the Aubergine Rouge, the room was comfortable and exactly as pictured. Eric is an extremely accommodating host and very passionate about Arles. He gave tons of helpful recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing. If you're going to Arles, you have to stay here!
Eryk's passion is his home and as such you can't help but find yourself in a romantic wonderland of Arles. Eryk is totally dedicated to what Arles has to offer and is a font of knowledge. He took me around Arles and gave me a grounding and history to the town. The hotel is a trove of accolades to the arts. The room is just as pictured and at first I was nervous to disturb anything but as I relaxed and was encouraged to rummage I enjoyed routing through the homage to Van Gogh.
The place is magical, Eryk created a beautiful and convenient space to rest and explore the town and surroundings. The common area is big enough that you can interact with other guests, or keep by your own if you wish for some privacy. All the necessary amenities are there, place is clean and confortable, hosts are super nice, helpful and responsive. Great experience, highly recommend.
Our stay at L'Aubergine Rouge, and the Van Gogh Room was complete magic! Eryk greeted us our first evening with a friendly smile, conversation, some wine, Provencal olives and a delicious Camargue rice dish he had made for us. My friend Peter and I felt instantly welcome and at home and that feeling continued for our entire stay of nearly a week. Eryk went above and beyond in his helpfulness and hospitality and we also enjoyed the camaraderie of the other guests we had the pleasure to meet at his home. The experience left us with a feeling of living out a delightful travel film.
The neighborhood is beautiful and a close walk to everything we needed including public transportation to the beach and the Camargue.
We would love to return to Arles and definitely hope to have the opportunity to stay with Eryk again sometime soon.
